This Dog is "Cool"
by Bwana_Brown
During our return visit to the city, we enjoyed walking around the many small streets of the city and also in the downtown pedestrian area. This is a tourist oriented spot with quite a few quirky things to catch your attention but it was this dog, waiting patiently for its owner to return, that really caught our eye! One 'cool' mutt with his shades on!! I think he knows that he has got it made!
Tovar House

TOVAR HOUSE
The infantryman Jose Tovar lived on this corner in 1763. The original site and size of his house remained unchanged during the British period, when John Johnson, a Scottish merchant, lived here. After the Spanish returned in 1784, Jose Coruna, a Canary Islander with his family, and Tomas Caraballo, and assistant surgeon, occupied the house. Geronimo Alvarez, who lived next door in the Gonzaliz-Alvarez House, purchased the property in 1791. It remained in his family until 1871. A later occupant was Civil War General Martin D. Hardin, USA. The Tovar House has been owned by the St. Augustine Historical Society since 1918.

This is a good place to come and hang out, and try a few Jaegermeister shots... The crowd is casual. Since it's right near St Augustine beach, the mood is quite relaxed here. Just have some drinks and a good time.
CHARMING MARINA RESTAURANT

We had our VT lunch at the charming CONCH HOUSE. What a lovely place. Unique to this restaurant were little "bird's nest" tables, overlooking their Marina. Those went pretty quickly. We were all seated inside where there was lots of room.
The menu was quite varied with you usual soups, salads, hamburgers, seafood.
Hans and I each had the pulled pork on a bun, which came with a side of cole slaw and chips.
Columbian

There only two of these restaurants in US. One of them is in St.Augustine, the other in Tampa.
Very good atmosphere, good food and service. I would suggest a carafe of Sangria in hot sunny day.
