wear a straw hat
by shohman
Girls, to fit in with the locals, it's a good idea to wear a straw hat. This is a tradition started by Saint Jethro. Back in 1768, St Jethro founded the first Greek Orthodox church in St Augustine. Ok, I may have a few of my facts mixed up, but don't these girls look good in those hats?

A beautiful course that plays in an among some great homes where you have to negotiate moguled fairways, plenty of water, and some really well placed traps. Not a long course, 6500+- yards but it requires accuracy.

nice irish pub
by davecallahan about Ann O'malley's Pub
This was a great place to get a corn beef sandwich on dark bread and some vinegar fries. The mug of light ale helped keep the calorie count down. My wife got a turkey club sandwich and a coke. All of it was delicious and we listened to quiet Irish tunes playing in the background (sound system).
The place was dark wood and Irish knickknacks. The meal was served in whicker basket-like thingees; made fresh per customer. The service was slow and relaxed; the bar tender was the waiter and a busboy was also sweeping and stocking the bottles on the shelves.
Reminded me of a pub in south London.
Pricing was reasonable: $10 plus tip and tax.
Great Food and Views
by iluvtrvl about The Conch House
Situated on the intracoastal waterway, across the Bridge of Lions off of A1A is The Conch House. The restaurant features fresh fish and seafood, as well as steaks and other non-fish items. The house salad is an absolute must, with a citrus-based vinegarrete that wants you asking for more....but don't, because the entree will make you soon forget about the delicious greens. Top off your meal with a slice of fresh key-lime pie for dessert.
The Conch House is adjacent to a marina, has indoor seating, outdoor patio seating and outdoor "treehouse" seating - tables built around poles covered by grass roofs that offer you a fantastic view of the marina and water. There is a detached bar between the marina and restaurant where you can relax before your meal. A small hotel and gift shop also are at the property.
