Visit during Holiday months!
by Shihar
It really is impossible to see all St. Aug has to offer in a day or two. If that is all the time you are able to visit then plan a return visit... the city will definately call you back!
The months of November thru January are especially beautiful because the city is decorated with lights. My best memory of St. Aug is living here and knowing all the secrets that the tourists never knew!... but here I am now grown and mature sharing the secrets with all of VT.

History of St. Augustine
by spartan
In 1883 the Jacksonville, St. Augustine & Halifax River railway was completed, giving the city a link with it's neighbor to the north, Jacksonville. During the winter of 1883-84, Henry M. Flagler, one of the co-founders of the Standard Oil Company, visited the city and was impressed with the charm and possibilities of the area.
An outdoor bar
by donpaul77 about Milltop Tavern
This place isn't such a bad place to hang out, especially on a balmy night when they have live music. It has a lot of outside seating, and even the bar area, which has a roof, is open air. It's right on St. George Street, and the view is of the river.
Yummy Seafood in a Tropical Atmosphere
by emilienoelle about Conch House
The Conch House is located over the Bridge of Lions from the Old Town, next to the the marina on Comares Ave. The restaurant itself is built on a pier overlooking the water and is really gorgeous on a nice day. When you've finished eating you can take a walk down the pier and look at the boats and the pelicans. It's very scenic. I love conch fritters, which you can only get in Florida, and ones they serve here are great. They also make a mean rum punch, something which I highly recommend.
