Great Place!!!

We had a great time! My boyfriend and I stayed here and had a blast. Its not a super fancy place, but a great weekend getaway trip. The hotel was right on the beach!! Very clean, room service was really good, and Jimmy B's Beach Bar was a great time at night! You can rent cabanas for the beach and there is a ton of water sports in walking distance. We ate at the Red Grouper across the street from the hotel and it was the most god awful food I have ever eaten. We spend 70 bucks and I didn’t eat a thing. Its recommended in the hotel book as one of the best seafood places. Please don’t eat there, you'll be so mad. Yuck!
We rented a car and drove up to Tampa to a Cuban restaurant, Columbia. Delicious food! They are famous for the sangria. Make sure you get a pitcher!
I would definitely stay at the Best Western Again!

I recently stayed here for my birthday with my husband. We had booked a King bed, but received two doubles. The hotel walls seemed paper thin; we could hear the conversations of the people in the next room word for word. You have to keep your drapes closed if you want any sort of privacy. If you would like to get a good night's sleep, then this is definately not the place to stay! The rooms do not have good views, and the parking situation is very cramped. The only good thing about this location is that it is close to the beach.
Vacation from HELL

Considering there were cockroaches in the room we were staying in was not very comforting. The General Manager of the hotel decided it was ok to stay in the room because the exterminator was on the way to bomb our room. I had to ask for another room, and the GM gave us a room on the second floor. That's only the beginning. The freezer in the hotel didn't work. The information booth located on the beach, I had to ask the hotel supervisor to call the police because he was out of control and about to hit has wife. We also exchanged a few word because he did not feel like providing me with information I asked such as rentals for wave runners. He threw a brochure at me, and continued to argue with his wife. The hotel was located on St.Pete's beach, but because I’ve the Red Tide there was a horrible smell like rotting fish. You really couldn't enjoy the beach because of all the dead fish on the beach. I rented a car in order to drive to a beach that didn't have the smell of death. I ended up driving to Clearwater beach, which was, beautiful, and wished that I had booked a hotel there. I feel as through the Best Western Hotel is made for trailer trash people. Now getting to the service part. The bartenders were rude and seemed like they didn't want to be working. I order a hamburger of the limited menu, but I had to return the hamburger because it tasted like raw artificial microwaveable rubber. The bartender was unset that I didn't eat the hamburger. This is when I decided it was time to take a cab to the supermarket. If I didn't I know we were going to surve.

Room was old and dirty. We had the parking lot next to our room so we could enjoy the noise of the cars and people. I contacted AAA. They gave this place three stars. It should have been minus three stars.
Stay away.

The place was small and smelly, third day there found cockroach on wall. Complained about it was told it was a palimento bug, {which is an american cockroach with a southern name} Manager said they could move us to another room or they would spray the room we were in. She said bugs are common here as they come from the palm trees. If your looking for comfort and relaxation avoid this place. needs to be torn down and rebuilt.
Celebrated New Years at Best Western
by TripAdvisor Member kotsoj
Live in Toronto and my wife and I decided to fly to Florida for three days just to warm up. We found the Best Western and got a terrific rate. The hotel is older in design but has very well appointed rooms with a fridge and full kitchen. Rooms were not spotless but never the less clean. We celebrated bringing in the New Year at their two very popular (with locals) bars and restaurants. We never left the property. The daily entertainment was there and right on the beach. Oh, by the way, the hotel is directly on a big beach and wonderful to walk on. We were never bored that's for sure. Older hotel, clean rooms, friendly staff but lots to do and enjoy and fantastic value for what you pay. Especially the entertainment. Highly recommend it. I know that we will be back.

I came down for Memorial Day weekend. Being directly on the beach was wonderful, and the outdoor restaurant was convenient & the food was ok. The pool, although unguarded, was clean. The trolley was convenient. I was not happy with the room, as it was old, dingy and in need of updating, considering the cost. There was a lot of noise when the bar closed at 2:00 am each night. I hope they have increased their security since then.
Awful, dirty hotel
by TripAdvisor Member Lorraine777
The place was more like a motel with a pool and a courtyard. The room was desperately in need of a good cleaning, renovation and new furniture. The bathroom by the pool was smelly. Staff at the restaurant were nice but had no sense of customer service.
We did not stay at the hotel but came to go to the beach bar: Jimmy B's Beach Ba

Did not stay at the hotel, but came to the Jimmy B's Beach Bar. A fun time, live music, fun atmosphere. Beautiful beach location.
Great location, great beach, great value!

My daughter and I just spent 5 days at this hotel and loved it. You get a lot for your money-- courtyard with two pools, beachfront, nice landscaping, two bars with food service, one on the beach (Jimmy B's) with entertainment DAILY-- all afternoon and evening. We were very impressed with the local talent and the live music created a fun atmosphere. Beautiful sunsets from the deck or boardwalk to beach. On the same strip other hotels are as much as $360/night. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were adequately cleaned. Each room has a fridge and coffee pot. You can play trivia and other games (billiards) in the indoor sports bar. We did not want to leave!
One caveat-- the exercise room is a joke! A stationary bike and one other lame sort of universal, in a small, dank upstairs room... so get your exercise walking the beach and swimming.
