best value on st. pete beach
I have been staying at the Howard Johnson's st. pete beach for 25 years and now take my family there. the hotel is not the fanciest on the beach, but i have stayed at many other hotels and this one has the most beautiful gulfront view, the best pool deck, and the friendliest people. we just returned last week and the hotel has done a good job of updating the rooms, it is always very clean and we never would stay anywhere else. The beach bar, Ricky T's, is awsome, great food, fast, friendly service and live entertainment. This hotel is always our "home base" and we love it. It has never looked better. It is not as crowded as the other hotels, and there is always plenty of room to swim and lounge by the pool. We will continue to stay here in the future.
Unique Quality: we love the shuffleboard courts, the oversized pool, pool deck, and the oversized rooms on the top floor. Other than breakfast, you can eat all meals here. the food is great, not expensive and great atmosphere. The gulfront rooms also overlook the pool area and are so pretty.
