O.K. at the Hilton

We ended up at the Hilton after our plans at a nearby bed & breakfast didn't work out. We checked in on a Saturday and got the last room, which was $259 for a non-gulf front room - a little pricey considering the property was "dated" for a Hilton. Upon check-in the staff was nice and helpful, but after that different staff during the rest of our stay was the total opposite. The front desk staff hardly smiled and seemed "put out" by any requests we had. We did switch to a gulf view room our 2nd night and that made the rest of the stay well worth it! The view is beautiful. The beach location is great and while I agree that the price of the cabanas was a little high, it was nice to have. We had the beach breakfast buffet on Sunday which seemed like a good price at $9.95, but after the charges for coffee and o.j. was a little on the high side. The food was good. The rooms were clean. When we moved to our gulf view room, our bath towels were much nicer than when we were in the non-gulf room - interesting! Also, upon check out we questioned a charge on our bill from the Tike Bar. After further investigation, the staff found that a drink was charged to our room without a signature. It was taken off, but they weren't very apologetic about it. Overall, it was an o.k. hotel, but as other reviewers have commented, I would have expected a little more from a Hilton.
My second home

I have been staying at the North Redington Hilton for about 7 years now. My most recent stay was in May 2005. I always feel a bit spoiled because the Hilton offers everything I want on my vacation. If I don’t want to leave the Hotel, I can have a good breakfast, lunch or dinner at Mango’s. How many times have you heard people say they like hotel food? If I want cocktails, I can go to the Tiki Bar where the bartenders make an excellent Pina Colado with rum poured into the straw. The employees are always friendly. Two years ago, there was a wedding party staying at the hotel and extra rooms were needed for that night. They upgraded our room to Gulf Front…for the entire stay. Recently, the Hilton underwent a much-needed renovation and the rooms look great. Think Hemingway…We always rent a cabana on the beach, and for the price and the great service from Kevin, it’s worth it. I guess the statement that would accurately describe the Hilton is consistency. I feel like I’m going home. And after staying there as often as I do (sometimes only once a year) they remember me.
Now for the downside….I am a bit burned out on the Caribbean style music they play. Sometimes, the rooms can be down right pricey. However, I am diligent and always watching the websites for deals and have been fortunate thus far.
Awesome Beach Stay

I have nothing but great things to say about this resort. Julie was my first employee to contact and she took care of everything professionally yet very friendly. She was also the one to check us in and she was again awesome. She made everything about our check-in smooth and quick. The bottle of champagne that was supposed to be in our room was delivered in a matter of minutes after we got into our room by a very friendly gentlemen. The champagne was not in the room because we checked-in very early. The restaurant was great and the service good as well. The tiki bar outside was great. Eddie the bartender was a great person to be around, he took care of all the guests and showed great guest service skills. You can't beat the location, the beach is beautiful and you are in easy access to everything. I hope other people get to experience the nice get-away that i did.
