WHAT'S HAPPENIN IN St. PETERSBURG?
by iris2002
Check out the "sunken gardens" if you are in St. Petersburg Florida -
Sunken Gardens is a delightful contrast to the fast paced world outside its historic, vine covered walls. The garden has been an historic, world renowned attraction in St. Petersburg since 1935. Its mixture of tropical gardens and wildlife has entranced visitors for over 65 years. This unique, four acre garden, with meandering paths, drops 15 feet below street level and has unique specimen tropical trees and flowering plants.

Open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm. Watch out for those pelikans - they are soo cute and really tame - hihi.
I remember sharing my lunch with one winged fella - amazing how much they can stuff in their mouth !:)
Now this fellow must have had...

Now this fellow must have had his belly full of fish because he did not attempt to leave while I was taking his picture. Maybe he has been photographed so many times that he feels one day he will on the front page of a Wildlife magazine.

TROPACANNA FIELD down town St. Pete is the home of the FLORIDA DEVEL RAYAS and a day at the ball park with the family is a day full of memories. The HOT DOGS are the best. BALL CAPS AND T-SHIRTS AND SANDLES.
Be sure to try the HOT DOGS, they are great.
Geocatch on Honeymoon Island
by tampa_shawn
This is a modern day treasure hunt.....
Geocaching is a game for GPS users and is a wonderful way to explore an area and learn about your GPS.
Geocaching is a relatively new phenomenon. Therefore, the rules are very simple:
1. Take something from the cache
2. Leave something in the cache
3. Write about it in the logbook
Honeymoon Island is in Dunedin Florida and is one of my favorite state parks...and it has 6 Geocache sites. Expect the total walking distance to be 3-5 miles long so please treat this as a hiking trip and bring the usual hiking gear (I.E. Backpack, water, snacks, poncho or rain cover, extra clothes depending on the weather, good walking shoes or boots)
Park Fees to Honeymoon Island:
Admission Fees $5.00 for up to 8 people per car. Single occupant fee of $3.00.
The park has bathrooms, a small restaurant and of course a beach and an Osprey trail (my favorite). You might want to bring your binoculars and I would definitely bring a camera!
The location and information of the 6 geocache sites are as follows:
