More about Residence Inn by Marriott St. Petersburg / Treasure Island
residence inn - treasure island fl - not worth the price
Adequate accomodations - staff somewhat helpful. Certainly no bargain price. Loved watching the sunset from the beach. Forget the free appetizers in the evening - breakfast was ok. If you are on a budget this hotel is not for you.
Great hotel. Great beach.
We stayed at this hotel for a week and really enjoyed it. We had a one bedroom and 2 bedroom suite. Both rooms were great. The two bedroom had a claw tub in the "master" bathroom - overall, the rooms were modern and comfortable. And best yet, the air conditioner was not annoyingly loud like in other hotels we've stayed at. Our maid service was excellent - came every day and if we asked, would clean our room in the afternoons instead of the morning so we could go to the beach in the a.m. and come back and shower. The morning breakfast was fine and we would take our food back to our room. We stocked our kitchen and freezer with food so we could cook our room - and we did so several times (the room attendant would put our dishes in the dishwasher if we left them out). We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and responded to our needs and requests (more chairs on our balcony) in a timely manner. The beach is great as well. White sand and you can walk quite a ways down. We took advantage of the privately owned cabana and lounge chair rental on the beach. You can rent by the hour, day or week. We never had to wait very long for the elevator either. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We look forward to returning.
Memorial Day Weekend getaway
Our group had 3 of the 1 bedroom units reserved for the Memorial Day Weekend. The rooms themselves are very nice. While we had a full kitchen, there was no oven. We were told the oven's were only in the 2 and 3 bedroom units. However, that was not a problem for us. Check in time was 4:00 p.m. and upon arrival at 2:00p.m., we were reminded of this fact and told to check back at 4:00p.m. or they would call us when the room(s) were ready. We went to the local grocery store and returned after 4:00p.m. and only one of the rooms was ready, which enabled us to put our cold items away. We waited for a call on the other 2 rooms and after waiting until almost 5:30p.m. we called the front desk and asked what the status was. They said they would call us right back and after about another 15 minutes, they finally hand delivered our other 2 room keys to us personally. It just seems they are lacking in some customer service follow ups, but nothing we couldn't get past!!!
The pool was not real big, but we went down early in the day and later at night since we were traveling with young children. Never had a problem finding chairs, etc. The one thing we really missed in the "beach type atmosphere" was a Tiki Bar. The beach and Tiki Bars just go together, but since we had a kitchen we were able to keep our supplies up.
Overall, I would say our stay was a good one, and we would probably return again. The location is very close to John's Pass Village and centrally located to locations either North or South on Gulf Blvd. The best meal we had was at Snapper's on St. Pete Beach. Not to be missed!
This is truely a brand new hotel! Very modern and very nice!
We were six, 4 adults 2 children in a 2 bedroom suite. Loved the suite, only problem was one bed in each room, (which we knew ahead of time, but dragging the kids to the pull out in the living room after they fell asleep was a drag) Flat screen TV's in each room was nice...check your hairdryer, we were missing one and the other didn't work. Hotel staff brought up new ones right away!
Nice view from room 515! (see pics)
Small pool, but I think with the beach there more people flock to the beach. Once the pool gets crowded you may have some issues here.
Breakfast every morning was a nice touch!
Try to get the under ground parking!
New, Clean, and Friendly Staff
We checked in on a friday, and enjoyed the customer service, as well as the cleanliness, and friendliness. Beach-Front Access! With good views, they have cabana rentals, that are fairly priced. Many nice restaurants, and activities in the area. Small- Pool, but comfortable, with a good beach. Sadly no movie rentals, in room but movie channels. Very modern room, with hard working staff that clean it everyday. Good morning breakfast.
The hotel is great!
About time T.I. got a Marriott!! Wonderful hotel....
I was a bit apprehensive booking this hotel as I never even knew that it was there. It took the place of the old Holiday Inn on T.I. and boy was I surprised when I checked in.
Getting to the front door/reception was a bit of a challenge as the driveway-entrance is not well marked or laid out. But once I arrived and went to the 2nd floor to check in I was pleasantly surprised. Staff at check in were accomodating and friendly. The room we had 807 was spectacular, more than you could ask for, although a bit in the upper price ranges you would expect for Marriotts like the Atlanta Marquis or Miami. The room was more like a full size apartment. Full kitchen 1 Bedroom no oven as one other Trip Advisor wrote about.
Bathroom: Wow never seen a bigger bathroom in all my life, especially in a Marriott. Those of you that have stayed in some Marriotts know they are known for their well appointed rooms, but some have bathrooms smaller than a shoe closet. This bathroom was expansive walk in shower, with beautiful tile work .
Bedroom: Bed was comfy as usual and the plasma t.v. was nice.
Living room: Again huge with another plasma t.v. and balcony, along with a dining room table which butted up to the kitchen.
Kitchen: Was beautiful, stainless steel appliances, convection microwave.
Note: Go down to Walgreens to pick up misc food items or up in Mad Beach they have a grocery store.
This hotel is definetly a keeper and the views are spectacular. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Treasure Island- St Pete.
Nico hotel, great staff
Great hotel for a couple of days. The rooms are spacious. We had a one bedroom suite which provided more than enough space.
LCD tv's in living room and bedroom, a full kitchen and nice bathroom added to the good feeling.
Recent reviews already mentioned the complete breakfast and helpful staff. My girlfriend and I would like to thank Trae in particular because he helped us adequately when experiencing noise form the other rooms.
The noises from the room above and next to us were the only negative aspects I can think of when reviewing this hotel. Our suite had a in-room door to another suite, which resulted in us overhearing a lot of discussions of the family next door. This caused problems later in the evening. We had an equal problem with the room above us. When kids start running it quite disturbing.
So the advice is, ask for a room without a door to another suite. Otherwise visit this hotel in a period less likely for family holidays.
Although rates of this hotel aren't low, it's a real good value. Rooms are newly renovated and well equiped, staff is good and the surroundings (parking space, pool, beach) are clean and user friendly.
Wonderfull, Brand New Hotel!!! Quiet rooms on beautiful grounds. Just a short walk to the beach. Hotel is looking over the beach. Attentive and courteous staff. Expensive hotel…but worth every penny. Will stay here again when we return to Treasure Island.
Great hotel with great views!
Beautiful place, very modern and nice. Bathroom was great, granite countertops, tile floors. Two balconies with great views, very comfortable bed, and the three of us felt we weren't cramped in the two room suite. The free hot breakfast was more than we expected -- it had several hot items, waffle maker, cereals, and a yogurt bar with fruits, granola and nuts that you could use for toppings (never seen that before at a hotel breakfast).
The pool was nothing to write home about, it was very small, but hey with a beautiful beach like that who needs it much anyway? We have a 5-year old and she was more interested in the pool than the beach, but hey, she's five.....
The walk to the beach was more than a few steps, but well worth the trek once you got out there. I would take everything you need for the day, because running back to the room a few times would qualify for a fitness challenge. ha.
The only problems we had was the heat pump went out and the room wouldn't cool, but they came to fix it the next morning. I think I was the first guest to complain about it (about 9:00 pm) because they were telling us how to reset the fuse, and try to fix it ourselves that night because the maintenance people had already left for the day. My understanding is the entire hotel's air conditioning was on the blink that next day because the breakfast area was really hot, and they had "carpet dryer" fans moving the air in there which made it bearable. The front desk staff was not as worried about it as I was when I initially called to complain, but I chalk that up to a personal problem and not a reflection on the hotel itself. The day shift manager was much more concerned the next day.
My parents went with us, and their room faced the south. Our room faced the north, so I am including pictures from both rooms, 7th floor. One note, if we had stayed on a lower floor than the 7th, we wouldn't have seen the sun set on the water due to a nearby building, so keep that in mind if that is important to you.
Overall, a good place to stay if you are NOT looking for a lush tropical pool setting and kids activities. Just a very nice room on a beautiful beach with a laid-back atmosphere. ;-)
