More about Treasure Bay Hotel & Marina
My family had never been to the St. Petes/Clearwater area so we were unsure of what we would find - but we were so happy we found this place!!! Our room was roomy, very clean, with tasteful modern furnishings. We even had a small blacony with a beautiful view of a little marina! The staff were exceptionally friendly and offered free snacks and drinks every morning and evening. The hotel was located near a lot of nice restaurants and minutes from the beach! The pool was clean with ample lounge chairs and umbrella tables. There were also clean towels available at the pool everyday. All in all we had a GREAT time at the Treasure Bay Hotel and we will DEFINITELY visit again!
A GREAT Find
I was looking for a weekend layover due to work and am ecstatic that I found this hotel. The rooms are comfortable, clean and spacious without being pricey - a good thing since I wanted to spend my time on the beach. The staff are extremely gracious and helpful and the manager's reception seems to go on forever with decent drinks and a relaxing view of the gulf. It does sit across the street from the gulf, so if you're looking for the pricey, beachfront room this may not be the place for you. But if you want access to the beach, this is a great place to stay. The public beach is at LEAST a quarter mile wide with plenty of beach umbrellas and chairs available for only $20 per day or $10 per day for charis only. There is also a snack shop with beach food and restrooms with showers available on the beach. In room massages are available from Justin of Justincredible Massage - and he IS. After a glass of wine at the manager's reception and an hour long fantastic massage from Justin you'll either be ready to hit some of the great, reasonably priced restaurants for dinner - or just order in and crash. One important note - the Bay View rooms are the really great hidden deal! These rooms overlook a small inlet with private homes on the opposite side and are quiet, peaceful and relaxing. We slept with our patio door open and woke to the warm morning sun and the sound of the birds wafting through the opening. I WILL stay here again!
Good Value, Great Service; Highly recommend this place
We spent four nights at this hotel. This was our first time here. It has only been open since August, 2007. We booked a Bayview room on the advice of a reviewer on Tripadvisor. The hotel is bright and spotless. The room was spacious and had a private balcony facing the intercoastal waterway. This was very pleasant and quiet. There is a kitchenette in the room with small fridge and sink. There are cupboards and there is a microwave. The kitchenette was not equipped with utensils, cups plates, etc. This surprised me given the amount of cupboard space. Our suite had two queensized beds with lots of pillows and very nice bedding. There were plenty of towels provided. Daily towel replacement if desired, but no cleaning of the room or making beds. On the second level of the hotel there was a fitness room and a common room. I believe they served coffee tea muffins. This was complementary. On the same level there was a large deck overlooking the pool and beach. Each evening complementary drinks and snacks were served (beer, wine and soda). This was a pleasant surprise and the staff were friendly and tried to make everyone comfortable. Matthew was our favourite. He was jovial and fun and really cared about the guests. The pool was a bit small but there were lots of chairs and towels and it was well maintained. The hotel is on Gulf Blvd (a busy road). The one negative for us was that the pool was not private and there was a clear view to the street. We thought that more bushes trees, etc could have solved this problem. The beach across the street was beautiful. White sand, very wide, and well maintained. All in all, we were very happy with our choice and would definitely stay there again.
Will stay there again
I echo Kimith's comments - furnishings, pool, service, fitness center, complimentary coffee/muffins, manager's reception, etc - all were first rate. We had a room on the street/gulf side and had a great view of the gulf and evening sunsets. The rooms and furnishings are just as they appear in the photos on the web. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful, but Matthew's attention to guest service was outstanding. Even though our room faced Gulf Blvd, we could not hear street traffic when our patio doors were closed. There is a pc with internet access in the lobby, so if you don't bring your own laptop, you can still check the internet, access/send e-mail, and do advance airline check in. The only reasons I won't give a 5 star rating are because of the lack of eating utensils, pool privacy, and that you have to cross a street (it can be busy at times) to get to the beach. I would not hesitate to stay at this property again.
Absolutely loved this hotel. Found it spur of the moment and was very pleasantly surprised once checked in. From the amazing staff, to the surprise happy hour and even the masseuse that was brought in for our happy hour!
Great location across from the beach.
Would definetly stay here again.
Housekeeping Still a Problem
For the money, this was not bad. The hotel is new or newly refurbished and the rooms were well appointed. The carpeting throughout is a little over the top with lime green, unless you love that color.
The rooms have either a gulf or marina view with balconies. Parking is free and the pool area is decent. The staff tries to make your stay enjoyable and are helpful.
Some of the odd things are the TV in our room didn't have a remote and we weren't able to get one. The room came with a small kitchen area (microwave, fridge, cabinets), but no utensils. The bathroom had a container for tissues, but no tissues. During our four day stay, not once did we see a vacuum cleaner being used by the housekeeping staff. They would "swifter" the tile floor in the bathroom, but not vacuum the carpeting. The carpeting can get a little gritty. It seems to me that the management should invest in vacuum cleaners, or if they have them, train the staff on how to use them.
We loved it !
We stayed here for 11 nights. This hotel opened Aug 07, so everything still looked brand new. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were equiped with everything you need - fridge, freezer, sink, microwave etc. All rooms had a balcony or seating area if they were on the ground floor. You can have views over looking the marina (this doesn't get sun in the evenings) or views over the Gulf. Here you can see over the Municipal Beach of St Petersburg. The pool area was great, with a hot tub of 104 degrees f ! The only down side was that there were not many loungers by the pool, most people however go off in the day and only come back late afternoon.
The hotel serves free muffins and coffee every morning, and whilst we were there they did free drinks and snacks - alcoholic and non - for 2 hours on Thurs to Sun.
There are not many restaurants near this hotel that is within walking distance so you tend to have to drive everywhere. Having said that Sloppy Joes is in the Bilmar hotel - not far to walk.
All in all we would definately recommend this hotel to everyone and would stay here again.
My husband and I just got back from a week at Treasure Bay and we loved everything about it! The interiors are decorated beautifully, everything was clean and new, and the staff was phenomenal! We really enjoyed the happy hour with Matthew (who is AMAZING!) Actually, the whole staff was great- helpful, polite, and cheerful. Everyone seemed to enjoy their job. We will definitely be back!
Great little hotel
The hotel has recently been renovated and the rooms are really nice. The service people are fun and helpful. It is right across the street from the beach. Great find for such a good price. One issue is that the town could use a little diversity. Other than that this is a great place for some fun and relaxation in the sun.
Very friendly staff, great location and resonably priced!
Initially we booked directly with the hotel, then found a much better rate through Expedia. Several calls were made to the hotel and each and every time the staff members were friendly, helpful, courteous and efficient.
The hotel sits on Gulf Blvd., with the beach and gulf beyond that. One does need to cross the street to the beach, but it is only steps away. One can choose the gulf or bay view which is at the back of the hotel. We wanted a quieter room and a bay view was recommended. It was on the third floor and it was just what we wanted.
The room was clean although the coffee pot was not cleaned out either day. There were plenty of fresh towels and hot water. There is a small sink, microwave and fridge for those choosing to dine in. Fortunately our room did not have the dreaded lime green carpeting. The TV and remote worked quite well indeed.
We did not use the balcony which was equipped with two chairs and a small table.
The outdoor pool is a tad small when crowded (20 bodies max) but was clean, warm and enjoyable. There is also an adjacent hot tub which we did not use. There is limited free parking.
A Waffle House sits just next door and the one meal we ate there was fine, although it was hardly crowded and service was quite slow, probably due to several trainees being instructed simultaneously. Two different hotel staff members recommended food at the Foxy Cafe about a half mile away. The one meal we ate there was also our last. While the service was quite good, the food was lousy and we wouldn't waste our time or money there again.
We had one dinner at a really nice restaurant just a block or so away from the hotel at The Middle Grounds. It was decent food, reasonably priced with very nice decor, good service, and a fantastic aquarium.
It's a beautiful area and this hotel has something for everyone. Thanks to all the staff members for being so helpful and friendly!
