we are planning our marriage at the beach of Sanible Island therefore we are looking for a beautiful romantic hotel on the island for 6 days.
could someone recommend an accomodation??

Maybe 'Tween Waters Inn up on Captiva, it is just across the road from a beautiful beach.

Without a doubt, I would recommend South Seas. My girlfriend and I stayed there last year and found it to be very reasonably priced and it has some of the better beaches on Captiva. We liked it so much we are planning on going back in 2008 to get married there. You will not be disappointed. We looked at just about every other inn/hotel/resort on the islands and couldn't find one that compared.

I´ve seen this hotel in a lot of vacation catalogues, but isn´t it very large there? for my wedding I prefer a more cosy athmosphere. any way.. thanks for your advice and good luck for your wedding!

Travel Tips for Sanibel Island
Long, slow walks to daydream the day away....

The 15 mile stretch of sand has to be one of the best in the world for shelling no doubt. People are somewhat obcessed with it and some just kinda stupid. Don't take the live ones cause' you'll stink up the condo in short order....throw'em back. Sanibel/Captiva has plenty to do for a week with the fam damily or just with your adult significant companion. There really is a lot to do in the area and if you run out of things to do on the islands you can always head out to Ft. Myers beach or Lovers Key/Bonita beach for more sight seeing.

Rent a boat

There's a few marina's on Captiva which all rent out small watercraft that are easy to handle. That way you can get away from the crowds within 20 minutes and do some secluded shelling north of Captiva, snorkel around Cabbage Key or just go for that all over tan!! They'll provide easy to follow maps and instructions so you don't get lost while cruising......naked.

We stopped here on a Sunday before the ride home. There was a 30 minute wait, but it seemed to go quickly. Food was very good, in fact I inhaled it. I had a bacon, tomato and cheese omelett with toast and potatos. Coffee wasn't so good, but the food was great
Sanibel Lighthouse

The lighthouse area has different parking areas with multiple trails (you have to pay to park). It's a good way to spend the afternoon, whether you're exploring the beach or using the fishing pier, relaxing, swimming, shelling, or all of the above.
The lighthouse is now used as housing for National Wildlife Refuge employees.
No lighthouse tours, but the grounds of the lighthouse are in a park, so you can wander through the grounds. Only the fenced areas around the dwellings are closed to the public.
