We loved the Inn!

We loved the quiet comfort that this place provided. It was on the beach but had a pool as well, which made both of us happy!
We chose this particular place because of the free bikes available and the breakfast delivered directly to your room each day.
The staff was wonderful and knowlegdeable. The extreme cleanliness of the rooms and the friendly, efficient housekeeping staff alaso added to the pleasure of our time there.
We did not have one disappointing dinner during our 5 night stay. All of the restaurants we chose were of the highest quality.
We came home to 40 degrees and rain, but were so relaxed and happy!
The real selling point of the Seaside Inn is that we will definitely return next year, hopefully for even a longer stay!

it's a gem

This place is a gem. We stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed it all. We made coffee in the morning, read the free newspaper, my husband swam in the heated pool. We biked around that end of the island and enjoyed the local restaurants. At night we used the movies available and relaxed.

A definate five star in my book. Went to celebrate our 15th anniversary. What a little private getaway. So quiet. Excellant rooms. Will be back again. No question. The staff was great, especially the pool and beach attendant! This guy works 12 hours a day and is always taking care of the guests. I wish I remembered his name. Short Hawiann lookin guy!! Hope they are paying this guy well!

The hotel rooms are very clean. The pool is located just steps outside the door. The beach is just a few steps away. The staff were very helpful. We received a breakfast basket each evening that contained orange juice, fruit, water, and breakfast pastries. Even though our room was located at the front we still had a view of the beach. I would highly recommend this hotel!

We took our vacation in August 2007 at the Seaside Inn on Sanibel Island. As the previous reviewer stated, if you like a 5 star hotel you probably will not like this one. My family loved this beautiful Inn. There were four of us and we had a room with two double beds facing the gulf. It was nice and quiet. Our 10 year old grandson loved shelling, playing in the gulf and pool with his grandfather. The pool was warm and clean. The staff were fantastic. Zane would put 4 chairs and 2 umbrellas up on the beach for us every morning, he was great. The staff helped us in finding restaurants and telling us which ones to avoid ($). They helped us with finding things to do on the Island also. We have stayed in a lot of hotels over the years and across the USA, this is by far the most helpful and friendliest place we have stayed. There is one more thing that we liked about the Seaside Inn, the Continental Breakfast that is delivered to your door every afternoon around 4pm. The basket was loaded with pastries, fruit, juice, coffee, creamer, tea, sugar, bottled water and cookies. What a treat.

Where is a good place to stay on Sanibel Island? We are two adults who plan to ride bicycles and fish.

Some years back I stayed at a condo near or next door to Snook Motel which was perfectly situated on the beach at West Gulf Drive . It was not a busy season so was able to walk in to a spacious and comfortable renter without pre booking anything. I mention this location because it has the Gulf on one side and on the other you are never far from the Ding Darling bayous.

The Kona Kai is on Perwinkle, right across the street from Billy's bike rental and at the back of the motel is the Sanibel River where you can fish all day. You can get a room with a kitchen, but McT's and Traders restaurants are just down the street - in case you don't catch anything!

I would highly recommend Beach Road Villas. My family and I stayed there earlier this year and had a blast. The villas are located right on the canal so you can easily fish from the back dock or kayak out on the canal to the ocean and fish there too. The villas also have bikes you can use (for free) while you are staying there.

Try Bay front units.. bikes you can rent all around the island. There is a great bike path. Tween Rivers may be a good place if you want to fish.
