TAMPA Airport to Ritz -Carlton Transfer Options

Hi , Can you please tell me what my options are to get to the hotel from TAMPA .
Is it a TAXI job or shuttles etc ?
I am trying not to drive coming from Ireland on the other side !

Ritz Carlton Tampa Bay does not open until 2011, so it may be a little early for that information. Either they will have a shuttle, depending how close to the airport the hotel is or they won't, the farther away from the airport the less likely they will have one, and in that case a taxi would be the next alternative.

After going back and re reading your post, I see it is the one in Sarasota, not the new one being built in Tamap. No, the hotel does not offer airport shuttle from Tamap, the hotel offers a shuttle to Lido Beach, so it looks like you will have to take a taxi to the hotel.

There is a bus service via Tampa Int'l (TPA) to Sarasota Bradenton area.(Sarasota Tampa Express)
I belive the pick/drop-off point in Sarasota at 2875 University Pkwy, Sarasota, FL 34243 (Publix Super Market)

I am almost positive there is a shuttle van of some type that goes into Sarasota. I live 36 miles north on Tampa Airport and there is 4 of these vans here for about 6 am to 8 pm. They charge $78 round trip for two people. Contact the Hotel and ask them about local van shuttle service. They should be able to put you in touch with several of them. Make sure you tell them it would be from TIA and not Sarasota Airport.

The breeze off the Gulf is theraputic. Have a camera on hand for the breathtaking sunsets.
You must spend some time on a beach....it is great in the morning, afternoon, evening and night.
Just, don't mess with the turtle nests! Downtown is beautiful, lots of interesting shops...small enough
to walk. Get up early and have your coffee next to the water. From October to May I would give anything to
be able to do that rather than looking for my wool socks or fuzzy slippers here in northwestern Pennsylvania.
Myakka River State Park

Miles of hiking trails through live oak tree hammocks, or through the palmettos and pines in the prarie. Lots of river for canoeing and kayakking...but you have to share the river with the gators...and there are quite a few. A great place to bike or roller blade on the paved road that goes through the park...or take a trail bike ride out into the prairie on the dirt trails. Regular car camping is available, as well as primitive camping out in the prairie, which you must hike or bike to get to. I often have seen deer by the roadside at sunset.

This is a great "down-to-earth" restaurant, considering that the ones that surround it are higher level dinner oriented affairs on St. Armands circle. It's a good thing the breakfasts are good, because it's practically the only game in town unless you want to go back to the mainland! The pancakes! Lunch is very good too, the Rachel (turkey Reuben) is excellent.
High class shopping around a giant traffic circle

St. Armond's Circle is the most interesting and unusual shopping and dining destination in Sarasota. Here, you'll find a giant traffic circle lined with numerous shops, boutiques and restaurants. In the center is a large circular park with trees and sculptures. Filled with pedestrians, St. Armond's is a great place to spend an afternoon. It is also cool to come back at night and drive the circle, watching as the glowing neon lights swirl around you.

ca d'zan (house of john) is john and mabel ringling's venetian gothic style mansion located on sarasota bay. the mansion was built in 1924 and was designed by architect dwight james baum. the mansion is 36,000 square feet and has 41 rooms and 15 bathrooms. the mansion has architectural elements from the doges palace and the ca d' oro in venice. the ca d'zan is one of the most impressive "gilded age" mansions in the state of florida.
