Cock & Bull fire pit parties
by LillithS
On Friday and Saturday nights beginning at the end of summer, Cock & Bull lights a fire in the beer garden. You must check it out. There is nothing like a crisp pumpkin beer sipped while watching a huge fire under the stars. When I leave town, I miss this place and not much else.
Romantic Tropical Ambience
by radiominor about The Summerhouse
The location of the Summerhouse on Siesta Key makes it a stones throw away from many of the rental condos and gulfside hotels. It has excellent food, and it was voted most Romantic restaurant a number of years in a row. Any Seafood is delicious!
Myakka State Park - Great Wildlife
by vertov
Myakka is close to Sarasota, but definitely gives you a glimpse of wild Florida. You'll see gators, eagles, wild boar, you name it! Definitely worth the US$4 entry fee.
Excellent boat tours, highly recommended. They'll get you close to the gators, but not too close, since you'll be within arms reach of the water if you choose. BRING YOUR BINOCULARS if you like birds. Definitely worth it.
Bicycle rental is also available for the trails, which is also a great time.
