We have been here twice. Both times it was for a church convention. The first time, the experience was magical and we felt like we were in the lap of luxury for a very reasonable fee. The second time, we were continuously hassled and lied to about the cost. They snuck in so many extra fees for things which used to be included that I will NEVER stay at this hotel again even if our church decides to hold another convention there. The fee that put it over the top for me was the charge to park in their lot of $10 a day. People who lived locally and attended daily had no such fee to pay. Also, there were some items in our little room refrigerator. A bottle of Fiji water was "provided" for us at $5 each. Last time I was in the 7-11, a bottle of Fiji water cost around $2.50. I suspect this hotel or chain is being purchased, as there were people in suits with clipboards loose on all the floors taking notes while we were there. Perhaps they were looking for other things to add to the fee schedule!

Unique Quality: It is beach front. The pool is also beach side and there is a veranda with a gazebo tent that can be rented for private parties. There is also a state park just to the north of the hotel. Just south of the hotel is an older mall that is possibly a high crime area. We were warned to be careful by the desk staff when we asked for directions to a place we could walk to for lunch as we decided we did not want to pay $15 for a sandwich. There was a Subway in this plaza and it was about 4 blocks away.

Directions: Beachside on Singer Island.

Nice, but dishonest about the beach amenities

The hotel is nice. And the sea is cristal-clear green. But on the website they say that beach cabanas (i.e. chairs and umbrellas) are available at a nominal fee. That is far from true. The private operator of those charges hotel guests $30 a day to use these. So count this into your calculations if you need shade on the beach, or bring your own stuff. In my eyes, a beach hotel of this class should have this amenity included, or if not, at least be honest and transparent about it, which they are not.

This was one of the most positive experiences you can have. Starting with our Valet and Concierge Joseph, the resturant Hostess Heather, all the way to housekeeping. Our hostess and valet remembered our names and spoke to our three year old son everytime we passed. We received super service, great recommendations for dinner, and the list goes on. I would never stay anywhere else while visiting this area.

Unique Quality: Awsome ocean views, great poolside bar, & very very clean.

Directions: Oceanside
