really all there is in Tallahassee is nothing but beautiful flat land.also there is a place where they have aligators that are so used to people they will almost come right up to the car with out attacking the whole beautiful city
Quite a few of Tallahassee's city parks have free public tennis courts at the ready. Back about 20 years ago, during the boom period when everyone thought they'd be the next Bjorn Borg or Chris Evert, getting a court could be dicey except during "off hours". But, folks in Tallahassee have moved on to other sports failures, leaving the tennis courts pretty much unscathed.
Bottom line... if you want to play tennis, you can find a court pretty easily just about anytime.
carl's steakhouse (formerly nino's) is located on apalachee parkway (US 27) about 8 miles east of the capital. this new streakhouse occupies the old nino's german restaurant. i have not dined here yet but according tallahassee native pete chamlis it is quite good. i will expand this tip on my next visit to tallahassee. closed mondays.
Come inside the New Capitol Building, and take the elevator to the 28th floor. It is the best view in town because:
A. You are inside the tallest building.
B. You can't see the building that you are in.

The original core of the Old Capitol of Florida was completed in 1845. Additions were later built in 1902, 1923, 1936 and 1947. The Capitol is a Florida Heritage Landmark.
Government offices have now been moved to a newer highrise building built in the same vicinity. Jeb Bush, Governor of the fine Sunshine State and brother of George W Bush, has his offices in this highrise building. I'll say no more on this particular topic. Suffice it to say some of my best friends are Republicans and staunch supporters of the entire Bush clan.
Tours through the capitol are operated seven days a week.
