Right on FSU campus
Completely renovated in 2006, this 1960's motel is located right on the Florida State University campus. My son was going to interview with his department professors, seeking to be admitted to FSU next year. We were able to walk to all meetings on campus without a problem. Luckily, we chose to visit while FSU was out of session. During school, I imagine the parking could be a problem, both on campus and at the hotel. We had 2 vehicles, for which they issued us parking passes. In session, only one pass would be given out per room, and even then, it is first come-first served for parking. The old swimming pool has been taken out, yielding another 10 or so parking spaces. The room was spacious and very quiet (we had a corner room). There was a small cube refrigerator and an ironing board with iron. Also, there was a free wireless internet connection. Desk staff is sometimes college students, which was great for us as we did not know where to go on campus or where the good restaraunts are. The only drawback was the immediate area across the street did not look very good (possible crime area) which was just a hunch on our part.
Unique Quality: Being right on campus was great for the purpose of our visit to Tallahassee.
