Go birding along the Gulf Coast
by Ewingjr98
The Tampa Bay area is home to a huge variety of birds including pelicans, cormorants, herons, egrets, ibis, spoonbills, terns, and skimmers, which come here to raise their young. Loons, grebes, and ducks also are frequently spotted in ponds and canals.
It is said that 125 species of birds either live in the Tampa area, or spend part of the year here.

Kick Ice
by sarahjayn
The Ice Sports Forum was built the same year that the Tampa Bay Lightning was added to the NHL. There are two ice rinks here: one for free skating and figure skating lessons and one for hockey practice. Mostly, it's just little ones practicing there, but I've seen the Lightning practice there, too. Skate and equipment rentals are reasonable, but the proshop is completely overpriced. If you have your own gear, its worth lugging it down there.
Best bet is to call ahead for the schedule.

There are a lot of clubs in Ybor City which is actually in Tampa. At night, you have to becareful not to roam into the wrong crowd cause there is potential danger. Police patrol the area so you really don't have much to worry about. The music venues in Ybor are great. The best is called the Masquerade.
In the Masquerade, the acoustics are great for any type of show you might attend. It does get hot in there and water costs a lot so take some money with you. One memory I have of being here was when I went to the bathroom here and there was a man that would hand you towels and have cologne set up. So I wanted to tip him but I only had a 10 dollar bill which is a little too extreme. I had to give it up and he basically worshipped me as a god after that. It was great.
