Grand Hyatt Tampa, Convient location, nice & clean
by TripAdvisor Member truppidavies
What makes a hotel niceer for me, when I look in the corners and they are about as clean as mine. Are they flawless, no...but certainly livable.
We just returned from a long-weekend in Tampa and stayed at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay. The first night we had a lake/pool view room, which was a nice comfortable room.
Our 2nd night (we went down to Naples for 2nights) and came back to Tampa for 1 more night, and we had a city view room. Still comfortable a room and pretty much the same as the first room, except a little different layout.
The service and friendless of the hotel staff was exceptional. Room service was probably one of the best we have had. Was it like eating at a 5-star restaurant, was it like eating at a very good 3+-star, yes.
We did not have an opportunity to check any of the 3 restaurants there, however, have heard great things about Armanis, wish we had the time to have ate there.
We would defintely stay again!
Top Notch

Superior service and a well maintained property define the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay. I chose this location because my family and I would be arriving late in the evening and proximity to the airport was important. Knowing that the Hyatt was a business oriented hotal, I booked the first few days of our vacation there anyway. We eventually extended our stay by one day because we loved this property. Even though we traveled with children (8 and 12), we were sure to visit Armani's, the signature restaurant in the hotel. What a treat! Don't miss it and don't miss an opportunity to stay at the Hyatt if in Tampa.
4 Star, Luxurious Hotel

4 Star Hotel all the way, bar and lounge, fine 4 star Italian restaurant, my king size bed had 4 pillows, and 3 designer pillows, very comfortable, big mini bar in the room, big bathroom, very very nice, room service has a limited selection, if you check out all the ratings it's the best hotel in Tampa, believe it!
Beautiful and peaceful

This is a wonderfull Hotel. It is hard to call it a Hotel because it is more like a resort. There are 2 pools, one near the hotel tower and another down a small road on the bay. This pool has a man made beach. It was so nice, lots of interesting birds. We stayed on the 12th floor, our room was great, huge window over looking the bay. I liked that even though it was a hotel room it was very big. The only problem was that it had 2 double beds, where 2 queens would have worked better.
There were 2 adults and 2 kids in our room. Also the maid did not replace the soap/shampoo everyday. I thought that was strange since the floor was business level. Anywhy that did not change our minds and we would stay agian in a heartbeat!
All it's cracked up to be.

Got a bayside view room for $139 mid-week that was spectacular. All amentieties. Friendly. Service oriented, free self-parking steps away in covered garage. Beautiful grounds, excellent location. A real treasure. Couldn't ask for anything more.
Incredible service

We became stranded travelers, riding the hurricane out with relatives, instead of at a beach resort celebrating our 20th anniversary. After 2 days of no power, boarded up windows and luckily, gracious family members, we headed to Tampa just to be near the airport. Because the airport had been closed in Tampa, all the hotels were full. After trying about 20 different spots we were led to the Grand Hyatt. I was near tears when I asked the very courteous attendant if there were any rooms available. She had a mini-frig sent to our room to store my insulin (no charge), and when asked to suggest a restuarant for us to celebrate our anniversary, made reservations for us at one of their on-ground spots. The room was lovely and the ammenities were great. The staff was kind and helpful. The restaurant (OysterCathchers) was great! I would recommend this hotel and look forward to revisiting when in the Tampa area again.
Fabulous!!

My husband and I found this hotel to be excellent in every way. Every good thing that you read in the other reviews is true. The room was spotless. The bed was most comfortable. The staff was friendly and willing to help in any way possible. We stayed on the bay and had a great view.
We ate at Oystercatchers which has exceptional food and service.
We highly recommend this Hyatt.
Grand Customer Service but the Pool was a Bummer!
by A TripAdvisor Member
The customer service was outstanding and the facility was beautiful. The only disappointment was the pool and hot tub. The pool and hot tub outside of the main hotel were full of leaves and debris. The bottom of the pool looked like dirt had settled and was very cold. The staff was very apologetic and said they would send the engineer to check the pool temperature. We sat by the pool waiting for the engineer and watching other vacationers come and go mirroring our disappointment. We eventually headed over to the pool by the casitas which also was cold. Needless to say, we didn't get a chance to use the pool during our stay.
Very nice, good restaurants.

OK place, lovely restaurant on the top floor, interesting wildlife in the grounds. Concierge conspicuously absent, shuttle bus departed for airport leaving us standing at the front door!
Great customer service

Stayed here only one night this past December. When the hotel I was supposed to stay in for a conference was full, the asked us to move here for one night for free....I was VERY pleasantly surprised by the level of customer service. When the thermostat couldn't be adjusted, they sent someone right up, then even offered me free breakfast for the inconvenice. If only ALL hotels treated you this way! I was sorry to move to another hotel the next day...
