The Travel Slut recommends an airport hotel
Mainsail Suites & Conference Center have been in business for since 1998 and are opening a new complex near downtown Tampa and have luxury accommodations on St. Thomas, VI also.
This hotel comes highly recommended and I stayed here in Oct. 2006 just for the convenience and accomodations and I live less than 1 hour away from Tampa International Airport.
The Travel Slut’s Top 10 Tips about Mainsail Suites-Tampa, Florida
1. Mainsail Suites is a “Park and Fly” lodging accommodation. Up to 14 days free, secured parking
2. There is pickup @ Tampa’s airport (TPA) about 2 miles away at curbside near baggage claim
and dropoff at TPA on a 24/7 basis. It takes about 10 minutes to get there by shuttle bus.
3. The suites are 750 sq. feet for 1 bedroom and 1,100 sq. feet for 2 bedroom. The 1
bedroom suites have a full kitchen, walk-in closet and are set up for the business traveler.
The 2 bedroom suites can accommodate 4 adults with a 2 queen-size bed set-up.
4. Internet dial-up in your room
5. Free wi-fi access in the lobby or restaurant-bar-lobby
6. If you want to be close to the pool, request building #100 (it is also closest to the lobby
area)
7. ATM on site
8. Sports bar and/or business-bar atmosphere in Latitudes Pub & Grill next to the lobby
9. There is a gift shop & small grocery store next to the lobby called The Shop @ Mainsail
10. The airport shuttle will pick you up at your building
Check in time is 4 PM and checkout time is 12 Noon
Unique Quality: The restaurant food service the night I stayed there was excellent, fast and courteous.
My room overlooked the pool and was a short walk to the lobby.
