Ah, Tampa
by ZenGator
The main reasons to visit the Tampa area are obvious: year-round warm weather and nearby beautiful beaches.
But, to be honest, there isn't that much else.
If you're visiting, you've gotta go to Busch Gardens (get there early!), then check out some of the places mentioned below. After that, scoot across the bay and follow the setting sun to the beach. Being born. :)
The Bright Lights of Raymond James Stadium
by tafurojo
Tampa is home of the 2003 World Champion Buccaneers (NFL). They defeated the Oakland Raiders in the Superbowl on January 26th 2003. You can experience a game at Raymond James stadium if you are in the area sometime between early September and the end of the year. If you get a chance to see a late afternoon or night game it is worth your while.

Okay, so my friend Allison and I are always up for a little craziness when we go on trips, and this time she decided to get her belly button pierced. We both have gotten some tattoos and piercings...who knows what will happen in Europe!
Ginny Springs - Snorkel, Dive, Camp or Canoe
by tampa_shawn
This is several hours North of Tampa but is a favorite so I had to include it.
7 separate springs of Ginnie Springs Outdoors discharge hundreds of millions of gallons of crystal-clear water that is a constant 72 degrees, year round.
The camping here is great and is the most affordable option and the camping facilities are adorable.
Note: Most of the diving here is cave diving - do NOT dive in caves unless you are certified for cave diving and have all the equipment. If your not cave certified and experienced either snorkel (the water is so clear that you will enjoy snorkeling just as much as diving) or dive without entering the caves.
I75 North past Ocala and Gainesville. Thirteen miles north of Gainesville, look for and take Exit 399 (the Alachua exit). From Exit 399, take US-441 north approximately five miles to the town of High Springs.

Boy Meets Boy
by loren1426 about Gay Bars
The Tampa Bay Area is home to some great gay bars. I am particularly fond of Chambers - Friday nights are great, and this club has something for everyone...There are 2 floors of bars and dancing. The bottom floor also has a center stage w/ poles and go-go boys and girls. Drag shows are at 12 and 1. The club is open til 3 am, and it's always a good time. Metropolis is a hole in the wall - I don't recommend it. Georgie's is pretty good - they have drink specials on thursday nights (which get pretty wild) and always play good music. I haven't been to the Jungle yet, but have heard that it's a good one. A new bar just opened up - "Club Denial", but I haven't had the chance to check it out yet. Lol....anything goes...
