Decent hotel close to airport

Very attentive staff. There's a bar directly off the lobby - can be noisy at night, but I guess it'll do if you're into that sort of thing. I got free drinks during every stay because I was traveling on business and used a corporate discount.

Unique Quality: Westshore Mall is within walking distance. Nice (although small) pool area.

More about Quorum Hotel

Loved the Quorum Hotel.

The Quorum Hotel in Tampa, Florida was wonderful. The lobby is beautiful and spacious. The restaurant off the lobby served excellent food and drinks. The service was very good, and the prices were good. The restaurant was open from early morning to late at night, which was very convenient.

The front desk staff were very, very helpful. They answered all questions very well and were very friendly.

The gift shop was nice and the computer room was very helpful to those who needed to check email, etc.

My room was beautiful. I was on the top floor with a lounge room down the hall, which had two rooms with continental breakfast, appetizers and drinks in the evening, two large screen t.v.s, and two computers. The view was very nice. The staff who worked in this lounge room were very accommodating. I had good conversations with many of the workers. It was also a nice place to meet new people and see a few of my colleagues.

I would highly recommend staying at the Quorum Hotel in Tampa, Florida. I was there six days for a conference and it was a very nice place to stay. It made my first trip to Florida very memorable.

Graeat stay ot Quorum

As a return traveller to Tampa, this was my first stay at the Quorum Hotel and certainly will not be my last. Access to the hotel from the airport was very simple.
Upon arrival at the hotel, I was greeted by an extremely courteous staff and was promptly checked in with no wait. The room exceeded my expectations in every way and made my short stay in Tampa comfortable and a welcome relief.
The restaurant had great food and again service was top notch. The breakfast buffet was very well laid out with numerous selections.
Although my time was spent on business, my stay at the hotel was relaxing and I will definitely stay at the Quorum again for business and pleasure when in the Tampa area.

Buyer Beware.....Quorum promises much but falls way short.

My business partner and myself were in Tampa for a major ad campaign for one of our top clients and we decided to stay the Quorum Hotel. By the end of the first day of presenting we were exhausted and we went back to relax at the Quorum to enjoy their Manager's reception and complimentary chair massage, which were the (2) deciding factors in choosing to stay at this hotel. The lobby lounge, where the Manager's reception and chair massage is located, was packed with about 75 people and it seemed cool at first but then we realized after waiting for what seemed forever that there was only (1) waiter and (1) bartender in the lounge....That was very disappointing and then it only got worse. When we approached the Chair Massage person and inquired about a getting a massage she said that we were 8th in line and we would have to come back the next day. We decided to go up to our rooms to get dressed and find a local restaurant to take in some drinks and dinner. When we got up to our rooms they had yet to be cleaned and refreshed with clean towels. This is not the type of service what we expected from a full service hotel. My colleagues and I travel 90 to 100 days a year and we know great, good, and average service, the Quorum hotel has poor service and the experience was forgettable. Buyer Beware of the Quorum and choose a proven product when staying in Tampa.

quorum hotel upgraded me to club for $20. We stayed post cruise and were able to check in at 8:30 am! Front desk and all staff were extemely helpful. Room service was prompt and my son enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Room was well maintained and hotel was well kept. I recommend this hotel without reservation for family and business

Great Experience at the Quorum

by A TripAdvisor Member

I stayed 2 nights at the Quorum with my husband and 2 young daughters, and had a very nice experience. The room was clean. The staff was very helpful. I had a room with 2 beds and while it wasn't spacious it was certainly not a problem. I reccommend upgrading to the concierge floor as the breakfast was quite enjoyable. The only issue with the room was a damaged throw pillow, not a big deal but housekeeping should look out for that kind of thing.

can't wait to go back to the quorum

Great Stay

by TripAdvisor Member mcd63

I recently stayed at the Quorum for business. It was a great experience from the start. The lobby was very inviting. The reception at check-in was friendly and informative. My room was large, clean and well decorated. The bar was nice and fairly crowded. There was happy hour, cigar rolling demonstration and a wine tasting. I had dinner in the restaurant which was pretty good. I also had the breakfast buffet which was good. There was an outdoor pool area where I sat in the evening which was pretty nice. Checkout was easy and I was able to get directions to where I was going. All of the staff were very professional and friendly. Locationally, you are near Westshore Mall and International Mall - I didn't visit these, but believe that they are supposed to be pretty nice.

I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it.

Good, Not Great

by TripAdvisor Member MrsDelgado

Stayed at the Quorum for two nights, on March 31 & April 1, 2006. We usually stay at the downtown Hyatt Regency Tampa (which runs about $220 a night rather than the $116 we paid on Expedia for the Quorum) but we needed to save a little money and weren't spending a lot of time at the hotel, so we opted for the Quorum.

I agree with the other reviewer who said that they must've put all the renovation money into the lobby. Downstairs & upstairs are a bit like two different hotels.

But I'd stay here again, and wasn't disappointed because I didn't expect it to be a 4-star. If you want a nicer-than-motel atmosphere w/ a pool, hot tub, fitness room, and comfortable bed, but you can't afford a 4-star, this is a decent option.

I wouldn't go there for an extended vacation (and I wouldn't call it luxurious) but it's a perfectly nice place if you're in Tampa for other reasons. (We were visiting my dad in the hospital and wanted something cheaper than Hyatt but nicer than Super 8, and it was exactly that.)

Pros:
--Comfy king-size bed.
--Pool area is pretty, with towels, lounge chairs, and hot tub.
--Fitness room is small (maybe 6 machines) but adequate, with free weights and a view of the pool.
--Decent breakfast buffet for $12.95.
--Free on-site parking (though it was a bit hard to get a spot on Saturday night).

Cons:
--Indifferent staff, slow service in restaurant.
--Bed pillows were awful, the most uncomfortable I've ever had.
--Carpets worn, bathrooms dark, walls smudged, art on the walls terribly ugly.

Other:
--Service was mediocre. We got a broken bulb in the room replaced, and received the razor & shaving cream we requested (and both issues were addressed promptly), but the restaurant/bar staff was young & inexperienced, and front desk staff generally uninterested.
--At the manager's reception, complimentary massage lasts 5-10 minutes, there's a line, and the free drinks are limited to beer, wine, or soda.
--Location: next door to Westshore shopping & right off I-275, but in a boring/anonymous part of town.
--Clientele seemed to be older couples, families, & a few partying frat-boy types (drunk & loud in the elevator on Saturday, hungover in the elevator on Sunday).
--Business center is one or two computers in a small room off the lobby.
--The stairs to the pool/fitness room are not as bad as one other reviewer said. Carpeted & clearly marked. Plus you can access the pool directly through the lobby.

Quorum rocks!

My husband and I booked a room at the Quorum on the evening of our first anniversary. We received a great web deal that included a hot, delicious breakfast. Not only, was the food great, so was the service. Everyone there was pleasant and helpful. They even sent a plate of chocolate-covered strawberries up to our room with a card wishing us a happy anniversary. Our stay at the Quorum was fantastic! I would recommend this hotel to anyone!
