Best vantage points of the skyline

by noidiotsplease

I will be visiting Tampa soon and wanted to know where some of the best vantage points are for taking pictures of the downtown skyline. I know that in the immediate area is a Riverwalk (or some portion of one), Harbour Island, Davis Islands, Channelside, Bayshore Blvd., Hyde Park Village, the University of Tampa, and the financial district, but I am not sure about the walkability of all these areas and what kinds of vantage points they offer. In other words, if you were going to take photos of downtown Tampa, where would you go? There will be two children with us, so I certainly would be looking for places that have sidewalks or are otherwise pedestrian-friendly. I appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

There's nothing really to take a picture of in downtown Tampa lol. I'd look at taking pictures of the skyline of Clearwater from the beach.

Curtis Hixon Park provides a really interesting point of view. This is directly downtown on the Riverwalk. I've gotten some really good sunset pictures from that location. Also, depending on how far you can walk, about a mile up Bayshore Blvd the road curves along the bay and all of downtown can be photographed from that vantage point.

Go to Busch Gardens! It's the best, all around, have everything theme park. The rides are great, the animals are right in your face and it's convenient. An Annual Pass is the best way. Actually, I live close by, so I don't miss much. But, I like the convenience of everything. No matter where you live in the Bay area, the stores, grocery, restaurants, retail etc. are nearby and plentiful.

where evil lurks

The devil comes in all shapes and forms. Who ever thought that he'd come in a little round bundle of fried crab meat and dough. I can't resist temptations, especially when it comes to scrumptious edible things.

Orlando

by emilienoelle

The city of Orlando (where all the theme parks are) is about 90 miles north of Tampa, or about a 1 1/2 hour drive. If you have an extra day, the drive from Tampa to Orlando is a worthwhile way to squeeze in a trip to Disney or SeaWorld without having to pay high Orlando hotel room rates.
