Lizards!!
by emilienoelle
These little lizards range in length from about 1 1/2 inches (5 cm) to about 4 inches (10.15 cm) and they are ablsolutely everywhere you look. As you walk down the sidewalk, you can catch them out of the corner of your eye zipping across the pavement and running up trees and fences. They are common in most tropical and sub-tropical climates and seeing them always makes me feel like I'm someplace exotic. Don't try to catch one though, they're super fast! Even getting a picture of one was a tough job!
Some packing tips...

I like to travel light, but this is up to you. You don't need any heavy winter clothes in Tampa, that's for sure! During the summer, make sure you have light clothes and flip-flops! It rains a lot too, so be prepared!
For the winter, I would say spring/fall clothes. Sunscreen is a must! Mosquito repellent too if you visit Tampa during the summer and if you go camping. When you go to the beach, make sure you have lots of water or some kind of drink!

JFK Monument, University of Tampa, Kennedy Blvd
by Ewingjr98
Just four days before President Kennedy's assassination in 1963 in Dallas, JFK visited Tampa. His motorcade drove for about five miles on what was known as Grand Central Avenue on 18 November. The road was renamed for President John F. Kennedy in 1964 by unanimous vote of Tampa City Council.
A group of Tampa community activists headed by then local Democratic Party Chairman Robert Florio pooled resources to commission a life-sized statue of the slain President by a prominent Italian artist. The piece was shipped to the United States in mid-1964 and erected at a site at Plant Park on the University of Tampa campus at Hyde Park St. where the statue's face looks onto Kennedy Blvd."
