hotel suggestion please

We are flying in and out of Tampa and need a clean economy family hotel. We are considering the Quailty Inn at 400 E Bearss and I 275. We need to be at the airport by 7 AM . Can anyone tell me how the traffic is that time of day from the Quality Inn to the airport and is there any other places closer to the airport that are in a good location, clean and reasonable price.

That hotel is kinda far from the airport. I can suggest the Spring Hill Suites Westshore. As a matter of fact I would suggest almost any hotel in Westshore since it;s right near the airport. Spril Hill is my favorite hotel. The Amerisuites is ok, so is the La Quinta.

There's also the Tahitian Inn On Dale Mabry. It's nearer to the airport that the one on Bearss by a lot. It's nothing special, but its nice enough.

Beach Towns

From downtown Tampa, the big beach towns of Clearwater Beach, Indian Rocks Beach, Indian Shores, Bellaire Beach, Reddington Shores, Fort Desoto Park, and others. Fort DeSoto Park beach was named America's best beach in Dr. Stephen P. Leatherman's annual rankings.
Another nearby favorite is Caladesi Island State Park, in the Gulf just off Clearwater. This island beach also made Leatherman's list as America's 4th best beach.
The closest beaches to Tampa are about 30-45 minutes away depending on traffic, while others like Caladesi Island are accessible only by boat, so require some additional planning.
No Need For Natural Ice

The Tampa Bay Ligntning is the current Stanley Cup Championship team. I've been a fan ever since there was a team . . . though I admit they've had some, ahem, rocky years.
Sadly, we don't seem to be doing that well right now, but keep checking . . . Tampa Bay can win the cup again!
honeymoon island state park

honeymoon island state park is located just west of the town of dunedin north of clearwater. the charming town of dunedin is a very nice place to visit in the tampa-clearwater area. honeymoon island has a beautiful unspoiled gulf beach. from downtown tampa take US 60 (kennedy blvd) west to clearwater. then take US19ALt to dunedin. see my dunedin pages for more information.

Historically downtown Tampa has not been known for its nightlife but the city is attempting to change this and there are now things to do here after the work day ends.
Popular options include
