Tarpon Springs Gem
We have been to the Spring Bayou Inn 3 time now. We really enjoy the atmosphere in Bed and Breakfast Inns and the fact their are no children. Our first two visits were in the 1980's under different management. Our stay in August 2006 was just as enjoyable as our first two visits were. The gourmet breakfasts served each morning were the absolute best. And the fact that they asked after our first breakfast if we were more of "egg" or "sweets" people showed they really do care about their guest.
We rented a sailboat for a day out of St. Petersburg and when we let Bill & Sherrie know we would be leaving that morning before breakfast Bill offered a light continental breakfast of fresh fruit and yogurt that was more than we could eat. Bill also packed us a lunch to take with us on the sailboat that was absolutely fantastic and again more than we could eat. He made us chicken breast sandwiches, where he cooked the chicken breast the night before and took the meat off the bones and put onto the rolls of the sandwiches.
We also enjoyed their recommendations of where in town to eat. All the Greek food is worth trying and I did my best to try it all in the time we were there.
We will diffinately do our best to return in another couple of years or so. Bill and Sherrie are truely wonderful inn keepers who really know how to take care of their guests.

Bed and Breakfast - Quaint and Romantic
We stayed two nights in the "Rose" room. The decor is beautiful, antiques - Victorian. Our king sized bed was lovely, as well as very comfortable. This B&B has a sweet old fashioned wrap around porch - which had we had more time we would have loved to spend some quiet moments on - but we were in town only for a weekend to attend a wedding. There are always cookies and soft drinks or tea available - and candy dishes everywhere you look. Breakfast was gourmet - Host is a graduate of Cordon Bleu. The town itself is wonderful. We walked to the "sponge docks" and went through many of the unique little shops. There are many Greek bakeries and restaurants. Also you are a very short drive away from a beautiful little beach/park (Howard) - very family friendly - yet was plenty romantic for my husband and I as we walked hand in hand barefoot through the very warm Gulf water. If you've never tried a B&B you should - each one has a different flavor - and Spring Bayou was a happy weekend destination. Sherry & John
Unique Quality: Location is great. You can walk to shops (unique "gifty shops" as well as many antique stores. You can walk to restaurants and even a nightclub that had a rockin band while we were there. The sponge docks are very unique and interesting. Also, there is an excellent bike path! Always a winner in our book! A quaint historic little town.
