More about Crystal Palms Beach Resort

Love Crystal Palms!!!

by TripAdvisor Member krnfield

The choice is easy...you can either pay $200.00+ to stay in a typical beach hotel with a small, ugly room and an unbearably uncomfortable bed OR for quite a bit less you can stay at Crystal Palms Beach Resort where you get a full kitchen (with everything you need to prepare meals and eat in the room) a full sized living room with large flat screened TV and a huge comfortable bed with super soft pillows...and this is just the small room. Crystal Palms was the perfect place for a weekend beach get-away....we are already planning our return visit.

Well worth it!

We came on spring break 2009 with our two daughters age 13 & 16. Most people I saw here were 25-45, with families.
Pros: The Crystal Palms is a brand new facility (2009) with spacious rooms. It reminded much more of a large two bedroom apartment, rather than a hotel. There is a full-size kitchen with full-size appliances, including a dishwasher and washer and dryer. You get daily towell service included, and every other day full service. The pool and spa were nice, and the huge balconies were unlike any I've seen before. Parking area was close and well lit. The good news is this is not a college party area.
Cons: The bedroom curtains were not light filtering. You have to cross the street to get to the Gulf, but it is not that busy of a street. Besides all of the hotels sit way off the beach at Treasure Island because of a very wide sandy beach.
Summary: When I compared prices, I couldn't find anything as nice for the $185. per night rate. You can find cheaper in Treasure Island, but beware there are a ton of 40 year old motels there. We also liked the lighter crowds. If we come back to Treasure Island, we will stay at Cystal Palms.

Best Weekend

by TripAdvisor Member beachfunOrlando

This weekend trip was great from the very beginning. Making the reservations with Heather being so helpful was great and once we got there it was exactly as she had describe. The rooms are so spacious and modern it is not like staying in a regular hotel room. Very family oriented. Would certainly return for another enjoyable visit.

a Gem in Treasure Island

We stayed here for the easter weekend as a respite from the parks in Orlando. The hotels website accurately reflects the boutique, modern theme of the accommodation. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment on the third floor of the property, all apartments overlooking the pool. All apartments face onto what is a busy road during the day but at nights is considerably quieter. The double glazing does, however, cut out any other noise from the resort and we did not find street noise an issue as some other reviewers.
We do agree that the blinds on the master bedroom window are a problem. We struggled to sleep at night due to street lighting and were awake at first light in the morning. We even tried sleeping in the 2nd bedroom which has a black out blind but the noise from residents using the lifts counter balanced the reduction in the light streaming into the rooms,
The accommodation is finished to a high standard as per the other reviewers with leather sofas, LCD televisions, granite surfaces in kitchen and bathrooms and the accommodation was very clean. There is a lot of lighting in the apartment both functional and decorative e.g a 3 lamp pendant at entrance to kitchen, there were several bulbs out on our arrival which is a pet hate of mine as its easy to spot and shows a lack of attention to detail. On our arrival there were a couple of minor problems, a broken cabinet in the living area and some dirty marks on the bedroom carpet. We reported this to be advised that the previous occupants had "trashed the place" and it had taken some time to rectify. On the positive side all repairs and bulb replacements were done within hours of the problems being reported. Both reception staff and maintenance staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel is not beachfront but don't let that put you off. I have stayed in other accommodation in Treasure Island that is on the beach. There are many establishments that are shabby and tired on the beachfront but rely on their location to keep attracting business at inflated prices. Despite a few minor problems at Crystal Palms I believe that the hotel will address these and after all it only opened in Nov 08 and should be given a chance to address teething problems. The quality and standard of accommodation throughout is excellent and we will certainly return on a future visit.

Enjoyed our Stay

Great hotel for a nice trip to the beach - pictures on the website adequately reflect the rooms - very spacious living room and new appliances. Only negative is that the housekeeping was just "OK”. The front desk staff was very helpful; they gave us several recommendations for attractions and restaurants in the area. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Resort and Fabulous Staff

by TripAdvisor Member luvthebeachIowa

This is a quaint hotel with absolutely gorgeous rooms. It's right across the street from the beach and within walking distance to several great restaurants. It has great views and the pool area is very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely visit again!!!

This hotel will charge your credit card with notifying you "they are thieves"

I would never suggest anyone to stay at this hotel, we booked this hotel 2 months prior, to our girls weekend and at check in our total was $702.24 as we checked out total rose to over $1,000. Without our consent the hotel went ahead and charged credits cards for those that they had the credit card number. We checked in and a dresser was broken and we filled a report about, the hotel didnt care that we had or had not reported it they charged several credit cards totaling over $400 without any authorization from the credit card holders nor did they notify us that they would be charginging this to the CC, in dealing with the manager and her employees who all have really fowl mouths and could careless, when we asked to speak to someone with more authority they refused, we have reported them to the BBB and DBPR and hope that this hotel shuts down, I dont recommend anyone to stay here unless you want to pay more than what you expect to pay.....

Lovely Place

New, quiet, clean, modern, spacious. What more can I say? I was very impressed with the entire place. Nice pool, gorgeous units with every amenity. Although it is across the street from the beach, the oceanview was awesome. Convenient location and great parking. A real find!!!!

More than I'd hoped for, Better than I imagined!

CP's went out of their way keeping our families together. Very important to us being we were there for our son's wedding. Our rooms were luxurious. roomy and well equiped. We had a perfect view of the Gulf and the spectacular sunsets. We enjoyed spontaneous get togethers and treasured memories at our leasure.
We found the location served last minute needs well within reach there's even a mall nearby.
Our son and his new wife live in St. Petersburg and we were able to physically search for places. No other places showed us the consideration making reservations long distance needs. We came back to Ohio still with no accomodations in place. Going on line I found Crystal Palms Beach Resorts with it's virtual tours and knew this was all we were looking to find. The price was right, the location perfect, the co-operation of the staff to fit us with a perfect fit was spectacular. We were able to stay the additional time we had hoped for because of the affordability.
Let me tell you too about the great places to eat close by, as well as take out and delivery. You must visit and experience the seafood places, just the best you'll find anywhere.
Hands down the only place to be if you're going to St. Pete Beach.
Thank you so much,
Paul and Barb , Youngstown, Ohio
