Has anyone ever stayed at the Palm Beach Ocean Front Inn? Can anyone give me the name of a nice hotel that is on the ocean in West Palm Beach?

Hi,
I haven't stayed their yet - but I'm taking my girls on Tuesday for 5 days. When are you going? If you haven't left by the time I return, I'll send you a a note and let you know how it is. I'm hoping for the best since it sits between two premier hotels.

there are no hotels on the ocean in west palm beach, only in palm beach. they are all real nice and all really really expensive. might be cheaper to be on the ocean in singer island a few miles north. while i have never been there, i know there are many large relatively nice upscale chain hotels there. as for palm beach itself, the breakers is a fortune but certainly earns its five stars from personal knowledge.

Stay at the Heart of Palm Beach hotel
they are a great place to stay just 1 minute walk to the
beach and great prices, and 3 blocks to Worth
Avenue shopping, underground parking garage is
great in the rain and summer and you just take
an elevator to your room, total new renovation and
restaurant and room service at a fraction of the
big beach hotels just blocks away. I live in town and
refuse to send my friends that visit anywhere else,
and they send their friends there, so now you have
the best kept secret in SE Florida, keep it to yourself!

Hi Again,
Well I just got back on Saturday from Palm Beach....it was just beautiful. The Palm Beach OceanFront Inn was not quite what I had expected though. It was adequate, but the bathroom was not as clean as I felt it should have been. The furniture was old and chipped. Since we didn't stay in the room much it was OK. If you're looking for a place to sleep this will be enough. The area has only high class hotels and apartments, so if you're paying less than $100 for a place right on the beach (I paid $69) and you aren't too particular about the room - this will work for you. Good Luck!

Respectable Street Cafe is the place to go for alternative stuff. It can get loud in there so check ahead to see if it's a band playing or if they are having one of their bizzare theme nights. It's located on the west end of Clematis.

by sunlovey about NIRVANA
Owner chef hails from Trinidad, but traces his roots to India, thus an eclectic menu full of intense flavors and spice.
One must take into account the fact that Nirvana is located in a strip mall... this made me skeptical. BUT... for what it is, the decor and ambience are quite nice, the bar is chic, there is nice live music on the weekends. (An acoustic guitar player with a soothing voice who starts out playing some smooooth bossa nova but eventually takes requests.)
Tables feature crisp white table cloths, chairs have a trumped up Caribbean flair, lighting is subdued.
Guests at Nirvana sit down to a plate of roti, the flour wraps made with split peas, and focaccia bread accompanied by two dipping sauces: sweet tamarind chutney and spicy green mango chow.
Reservations are recommended. Tim started with grilled prawns served in a flaky parmesan basket, beautiful presentation...delicious.
I had a tiger shrimp appetizer with petite fried and spiced spheres and a spicy mango chutney. Quite tasty.
Tim had their seared tuna special. Excellent quality. Beautiful presentation...
I had a scrumptuous chicken curry with Island-inpsired accents. Overflowing with tasty veggies and such, mmmmmm....
Price per person is without wine, assuming each person has a starter and entree.

the closest beach from downtown is palm beach. on ocean blvd there is limited public parking so it is wise to get to the beach early in the morning. from west palm beach you can also go south to delray beach or north to singer island were parking is easier.
A very familiar place.

Bahamians, especially from the Abaco's, travel to West Plam Beach on a regular basis. I am one of those people. In fact, many Bahamians own homes in West Palm. I don't. I haven't won the lottery as yet.
The ususal reasons for travel there are advanced medical attention - after having been referred by local doctors, and shopping.
West Palm Beach is very close to the Bahamas, and there are numerous flights serving the route, so it is only natural that it would be a given choice for a "quickie".
So many Abaconians stay at the Best Western Palm Beach lakes Inn on a regular basis, that we refer to it as Abaco Inn. At any given time of the year, there is probably an Abaconian at that hotel.
I will be trying to place some pics on this page in the future. Because travel to West Palm is so ordinary for us, we don't usually take any pics.

West Palm Beach is home to the rich, the famous and.... everyone else!! It's a beautiful place to stay. I stayed on Singer Island, which is actually in Riviera Beach, but I was in West Palm every day too. There are two places that I loved the most about Palm Beach: City Place and Worth Ave. City Place was just built a couple years ago and it's like an outdoor shopping area with stores like the Gap, Williams-Sonoma, and more!! There's a also FAO Schwartz with a huge sun clock (I think) on top of the building. It also has an open-air concert area where bands play all the time.
Worth Ave- ahhh.... Have some money to shop? This is where you want to go. It's got the glitzy stores and stuff that I can't afford, but it's worth the walk.
