Most people pass this place by without even realising its a place to stay. It's nice, though. Worth the money if you really want to be in Ybor.
It doens't have a pool or anything like that, but the casita does have a very adorable backyard with a deck and a kitchen.
This place is not special at all - except for the fact that its in the thick of Ybor. If all the other places to stay are booked, its not bad. I stayed here once when I was recovering from headlice (school teacher - - not just nasty).
Okay, so, for someone who lives in Tampa, I've stayed in an awful lot of its hotels. (Don't get the wrong idea - it's just that I like to go on adventures. . . even in my birthplace. You can't be "adventuring" properly if you're just going back to your apartment later.)
Anyway, the Don Vincente is one of two hotels in Ybor - the other being the corporate-owned Hilton Garden Inn. Unlike the sterile, stiff surroundings of the Hilton, the Don Vincente has a lot of character - - and not in that "character" = "roaches" kind of way. It's actually pretty swank.
A private school rented it out not too long ago, but usually I think only adults trying to get away from children stay there. The service and staff are amazing - even if your luggage is a grocery bag. The rooms are beautiful, and the restaurant inside is worth a try even if you're not staying there. I only have good things to say about this place.
