Peachtree? Which Peachtree?
by DrewV
You'll realize it eventually, so I might as well tell you now. Atlanta has something like 5,000 different roads named Peachtree. Peachtree Road, Peachtree Street, Peachtree Avenue, Peachtree Hills, Peachtree Park, Peachtree Industrial Boulevard... you get the idea. They are not all the same road; in fact, some are in different parts of the city altogether (though none of them go to Peachtree City, a suburb in Alabama -- actually it just seems like it's in Alabama -- the suburbs go on forever here).
Anyway, you're assured of getting lost and confused when it comes to Peachtrees, so just accept it, take MARTA, and move on.

Buckhead pool hall
by goingsolo about Buckhead pool hall
This is a great place for those who are fans of the all-American dive bar. Buckhead has a mixture of nightlife, ranging from high priced restaurants, after hours nightclubs where music booms till the wee hours and the bars.
The bar scene in Buckhead also provides a range of options. This upscale area has its share of high priced venues for sipping expensive coctails while, minutes away, you'll find places like the Buckhead Pool Hall, where patrons throw peanut shells on the floor and listen to rock music. The place is casual and laid back- a true find in a high end neighborhood. Everyone is friendly here and jeans meet the dress code. See above. Its a dive bar. I did see some people wearing suits in here. I couldn't believe it either, but it looked quite out of place.

As a big city, you can get here from almost anywhere on plane. Daily flights departure from Mexico City, and from a lot of places in the US and all over the world.
I would strongly suggest the car rental. It is really a big city, traveling times from one place to another can take you from 20 to 40 minutes, and using a cab could be really expensive.
