Suites at Stone Mountain

Has anyone else staying at Comfort Inns in the USA notice that they seem to be located in precariously places?? Well, I’ve stayed in a few (In Charlotte and Nashville), and they are usually are just off exits from highways, in rather strange lay-outs, and this one was no exception. It’s located just off an exit ramp almost immediately you turn, and if you are going at speeds, you’ve past it. We did. Twice, and had to loop back around, go under the highway and back around until you can make the jump off and not get killed by high speed traffic, but then we arrived at about 6pm in the evening on a Friday, and traffic was mega tight like in most of Atlanta and suburbs so I guess that was to be expected, plus we arrived just as a major thunderstorm was busting loose!

One bed/one person regular prices started at $159.00 dollars up to 2 bed/multiple person rooms as high at $189.00, though we got our room on special at $89.99 plus taxes, state and county. We had a rather difficult time getting a room perhaps because of upcoming American holiday Labour Day, which is 3 September, and other events going on in and around Atlanta.

Check in and out was quick and easy, helpful, friendly staff. The only thing we disliked was smoking still was taking place, and though we were in the non-smoking room, and presumably these people were smoking outside, the hallways and entryways were so smoked up it was just unbreathable for non-smokers like me, and fouled the clothes and eyes. A one time deal for the visit maybe, but it was a real put-off because you could still smell it in your rooms even with door closed.

Check in time is 4pm, check out is 11am, again a bit early for me, but oh well!

PS I've also stayed at the Comfort Inn at Hartsfield Airport and it's just as nice, but easier to get to.

Unique Quality: It was a nice room, very VERY comfortable pillow top mattress beds, and the a/c was working wondering after a hot day of travelling. In room we also had the coffee service, and refrigerator, so more of the suite. Free wireless internet, satellite television, continental breakfast (7-9am on Monday-Friday, 7-10 on Saturday and Sunday) with juices, biscuits and sausage, croissant, cereals and milk, such lighter things, though I never am awake those times so I always miss out; there is an indoor swimming and work-out facilities for exercise conscious (I am not, am on vacation pfft!), other typical things like fax machine, space for business meetings, catering for parties and events, wake-up service, etc.

There are very many restaurants and shopping nearby, fast food to four star, Dollar Tree to Super Target and Wal-marts, plus designer places which didn’t catch my eye.

Pretty good place to stay

The comfort inn by turner field is a decent hotel. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was pretty good. We stayed there a couple of times in the process of my hubby's job move. Good choice if you want to be close to downtown but want a cheaper rate--as long as the Braves aren't playing that day!

Unique Quality: Your view out the window is Turner Field.

Right Next to Turner Field

I had a very good experience at the Comfort Inn at Turner Field. Turner Field is the home of the Atlanta Braves and the hotel is literally right behind the baseball field. Not even a 2 minute walk behind the building. You are just minutes from a bus station that can take you downtown to any of the subway stations.

Unique Quality: Probably the best hotel option if you are going to catch an Atlanta Braves game at Turner Field. I would book in advance though.
