Cyclorama
by seagoingJLW
Visit the Cyclorama, a vivid retelling of the Battle of Atlanta. It is, of course, a panoramic painting.
There is also a civil war museum there with The Texas a civil war era train that was involved in the great locomotive chase. It is located at the south side of Grant Park.

Dillard in NW Georgia
by BruceDunning
It is a family style restaurant, place to stay and relax in a small community of only this complex. The specialty is the food. The presentation was good, with about 7-8 vegetable dishes, and 3-4 meats. For dessert, they offered apple cobbler with ice cream. The meals are family style and the restaurant serves as much as you want to eat. People rave over the food, and many come from Atlanta to eat here, just for a day ride. Price is set at $18.95 an adult person, fixed.
I would say the country ham is my normal favorite choice because it is hard to find around Kansas City. Dillard also features the country ham as a specialty in shipping around the country. I have had better family style food, probably none better than the Mom from north Georgia, who knew how to cook a good home style meal and it was very tasty.
Dillard has mail order packages of ham, jams, honey, various other items from the South and various gift baskets. The ham starts in price of around $7.00 a lb. and goes up from there. The baskets are $13-80 depending of the items included.
The Dillard is a complex of restaurant, chalet village for 25 cottages and 70 rooms, and trails to hike in the area, horse riding, and all amenities as swimming pool tennis courts, etc. The Dillards' have controlled the area since 1794 when 1,000 acres was granted after the Revolutionary War. In 1917, Carrie Dillard started the house for boarding.

The best way to get around...
by Arubasun.
The best way to get around Atlanta is by using the MARTA rail line which has over 30 stations all across metro Atlanta. You have the South line which takes you to their Airport station. you have the North Line which takes you to Midtown station and visit Margareth Mitchells house author of the book 'Gone with the wind', further more you have Buckhead station. Step out at Buckhead station and experience the nightlife district of Atlanta. You can also step out at Buckhead station to visit the Lenox Square Mall and the Phips Plaza Mall. Further North with Marta Rail you can step out at Dunwoody Station, you can step out this station for the Perimeter Mall which offers excellent shopping. On the West line you can step out at one of the stations to visit the Stone Mountain National Park and Atlanta Metro Zoo.
Five points is the name of the central station of the MARTA rail line located in the center of downtown Atlanta. At the fivepoints station both the North, East, West and South line meet. It is also the bussiest rail station of all of Metro Atlanta. Some stations do offer you the advantage of parking your car. So if you want to avoid the congested traffic around Atlanta park your car at MARTA's rail station and take the rail train.
What impresses me the most is that the trains do come every 5 minutes and can move you quickly through metro Atlanta. If you are an out of state or foreign visitor make sure you purchase a weekly MARTA ticket which can be bought at their counter at Hartsfield Ineternational Airport. If you buy the MARTA ticket you can use the rail as often as you like without having to pay 2 tokens each time you want to use the train. So buy a MARTA WEEK train ticket and save yourself some expenses.
