kennesaw mountain battlefield park by doug48
kennesaw mountain battlefield park is located northwest of downtown of atlanta off of I-75 exit 269. between june 19 1864 and july 2 1864 this was the site of a famous civil war battle. the battle was between general joseph johnson CSA and union general w.t. sherman. sherman defeated the confederates which resulted in the burning of atlanta and his infamous march to the sea. this national park is a very interesting site to visit for those interested in civil war history. also the park has miles of hiking and nature trails and a beautiful vista of downtown atlanta from the top of kennesaw mountain. a very nice park to visit when in the atlanta area. see my kennesaw mountain national battlefield park page for more information.
