My adult daughter and I will be in atlanta for three day Sep 29..what hotel are really nice around 14th street...not as expensive as the Four Seasons Thnx much

You do not want to get off the strip! Just blocks off the strip are some pretty seedy neighborhoods. I have sent people down there on trade shows and have had to find other places for them to stay because they were afraid.

I lived in Atlanta for a year and before I went I always used to get my eyebrows threaded. When I got to Atlanta I begun searching for Indian Areas as many indians do this hair removal procedure. After about week I found Urvashis out in the sticks! I was so grateful as sooooo did not want to wax (takes away the corners) Even when I visit I always go back. they make ur eyebrows look so sharp and precise. Urvashi

Atlantans are very hospitable people. Don't be surprize if they greet you at the mall or attractions you may visit through out the metro area. The best is to greet them back. It's called Southern hospitality. Though Atlanta is growing big city of 4.2 million people, the hospitality of the inhabitants still scores high.
Atlantans are extremely proud of their city, and know the city problems as well. They love to here compliments of their great city, but pointing out the negative is like hearing the same old story over and over again. So be nice...
Check out the Carlos museum of Emory University

Emory University was founded in 1836 in Oxford, Georgia, about 40 miles from its current location near downtown Atlanta. The new campus is beautiful: lots of rolling hills, old & modern architecture, gardens, forests, quads, & plazas.
I suggest checking out the Carlos museum, located on the main quad of the campus. They have a large selection of Egyptian artifacts. See website below for more info.
Real Caviar!

Many people claim that they don't like caviar when they have never even tried any real caviar!
So you have bought caviar at the local supermarket? That stuff is only a sad imitation. It's like comparing a soy hamburger to a real 100% beef hamburger!
This store sells both red and black caviar. The prices are reasonable, too. I like red caviar. The best way to eat it is to spread a very thin layer of butter on the slice of toasted bread and then spread a thin layer of caviar.
Remember -- good caviar is NEVER too salty.
Also, if you like smoked and marinated fish, this store offers fresh, high-quality fish. Beware -- serve smoked fish outside or your house will smell for days!

MARTA is Awesome!
Problem is it doesn't go far enough. There's a station right at the Airport and I think it's still under $2. When I go back to Atlanta I don't bother having my friends pick me up at the Airport anymore. It's so far South of the City that's it's a hassle. Marta is pretty clean and safe and if you are going North it's pretty good. If you are going to Smyrna or (West)Marrietta it may not work for you.
