Good location, good hotel, lousy staff...
The hotel itself, (i.e. Embassy Suites in Perimeter) is actually quite good and so is the location, but the staff at the hotel is amongst the worst in the business ruins the stay at the hotel. The hotel is located behind the Perimeter Mall, and is conveniently located near I-285. The hotel does offer breakfast and evening drinks to its guests. The staff at the hotel has long lost their desire for customer satisfaction, so don’t make the mistake of asking for assistance beyond asking for the card to your room.
During our stay, the idiots at the front desk double booked our room, and while we were watching TV, another guest walked into our room using her card key!! Needless to say everyone was shocked and outraged, but the staff at the front desk didn't care too much about it. Management apologized by giving us a small desert plate of old fruit and a small orange soda (most likely leftover's from the breakfast bar). Real classy people we’re talking about here.
I would not reserve this hotel with a discount site (i.e. Expedia, Hotwire, or Price Line) as the hotel won't honor your requests for a non-smoking room (as Hilton members get first choice, as they paid the premium price for the same room). The morning breakfast is fine, not spectacular, but good. The afternoon I went down to the lobby for an even drink, the bartender was drunk and drooling (no I’m not joking with you). Complaints to management will go unheard, unless you booked your stay directly with the hotel or with Hilton. Avoid all the rooms on the second floor, as they are entirely smoking rooms (and stink to the high heavens). Also, if you get a room nearby the vending machines (corner rooms), wireless Internet access is questionable (and expensive at $10 for a day). There are plenty of free Wi-Fi’s hotspots in Atlanta that you can do without the overpriced service they offer.
Unique Quality: Good location in the city, but the staff is totally apathetic towards the needs of their paying customers. The breakfast is not that bad, but there is not a big selection of breakfast items. The interior has a big tropical theme, but traffic along the hallways in front of the rooms does get annoying quickly.
