Friday Morning Rush Hour...
by asuram92
Hello, Im new to the site and I have a quick question.
Tomorrow(March 3rd), I'm coming into town on business and I need to get to the Galleria/Cumberland Mall area around 8:15. So I have two questions.
1.If I'm coming from the south, should I:
a)Take the perimeter all the way around or
b)Go through Downtown
2. What is the absolute latest time that I can arrive at the bottom end of the perimeter and hope to make it to the top end at 8:15?

I would just take 75 north the whole way through downtown and up to the Galleria area. Yeah there will be some commuters heading into downtown but once you pass that it should be relatively smooth sailing the rest of the way up 75. You will be going against most traffic. If you hit the lower end of the perimeter at 7am, maybe even 7:15, you should be fine.
Travel Tips for Atlanta
Atlanta Traffic
by dustmon
We are a big city that spralls out to the suburbs, so a car is probably a necessity for most, although there are lots of folk who take Marta every day, so it can't be too hard. If you can get an idea in your head about the different neighborhoods, (Buckhead, Midtown, Downtown, etc) then you should be fine getting yourself around just about anywhere. Sites such as Mapquest can get you from point A to point B, and most of us are pretty friendly so just stop and ask someone for directions if necessary.
Hiways have some pretty fast drivers, so drive accordingly, staying to the right unless passing.
COCA-COLA Museum has MOVED !!
by WStat
In May 2007 the famous Coca-Cola Museum of Atlanta has moved to a new location and became the new "World of Coca Cola"!
The expositions have again enlarged: from history to present, from a bottle-machine in action to about 60 different kinds and tastes of the beloved drink nearly everything concerning Coca Cola is presented.
The World of Coca Cola ist open daily, for exceptions and changed times (regular: 9/10 to 5/6)

Stone Mountain Park
by acemj
Stone Mountain Park is only 16 miles outside of Atlanta in Stone Mountain, GA. This is the world's largest relief carving set in the world's largest mass of exposed granite. The carving depicts three heroes of the Civil War, President Jefferson Davis, General Robert E. Lee and Lt. General Thomas 'Stonewall' Jackson.
Check out my Stone Mountain page for more information.
BuckHead or the Virginia...
by Julestoo
BuckHead or the Virginia Highlands
BuckHead has an Array of restaurants and clubs all within a few blocks for the ease of Bar Hopping. These clubs tend to cater more to the 21-35 crowd but all are definitely welcome.
The Virigina Highlands also caters to groups of all ages with fine dining and bars but tend to require dress codes no jeans and such. BuckHead bars have little to no requirements.
The Virgina Highlands require not jeans or tennis shoes normally.
Atlantic Station Parking is Reasonable
by BruceDunning
The parking is not a pronounced problem downtown. There are surface lots, and underground parking around CNN for the center and Aquarium. At Atlantic Station, parking on the street is slim, so the best is to park in the garage for about $2 for 2 hours. Max is around $11 for a 7 hours.
The one problem with automated machines, is when they do not work. We were ready to pay, but the prior people got ripped off because the machine did not give change to them. Then you have to go find the headquarters office to ask for a refund. I am sure that is not fun and a waste of time. Have dollar change if you can.
