Sounds like a plan. Wife and I along with 5 other couple friends got our fair share of Atlanta without kids in tow earlier this year. Stuck to tourist-heavy and credit card-busting spots - Coca Cola, Lenox Square, IKEA Atlantic Station among others. Being the head financier, I could say I enjoyed my time just sitting comfortably in our limo bus in Atlanta. It was a steal deal from http://www.atvipride.com/

Hi, unfortunately I have been busy lately and not watching the forums like I should be. I hope you are enjoying your stay here in Atlanta. If you get this in time, send me an email and we can see what might work. I work the night shift so can be available during the day or evening. (but I DO have to sleep SOMETIME... *grin*)
Travel Tips for Atlanta
Coke is it!
by tpangelinan
Can we just tell you that if you don't drink Coke you not in the club any more. Don'y say the "P" (Pepsi) word around this town or you may get hurt! They love them some Coke down here! If you work at the Coke plant and you are caught drinking Pepsi you're fired as Donald would put it!
Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest!
by MatthewMetcalfe
I'm not sure if it's a local favorite but I needs to be. Zoo Atlanta hosted a Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest. The Winner went on to Coney Island for the Finals on July 4th. It's a tradition that's been going on since 1916 at Coney Island and now Atlanta has gotten into the contest!
Hosted at Zoo Atlanta (which has a Nathan's Famous on site) the contest consisted of 15 contestants putting down as many hot dogs as they can in 12 minutes. Disqualification for uhh.. Leaving the Table.
It's pure American fun. It's Ridicuous, amazing, and all around exciting. I found myself laughing at some of the faces and cheering on the leaders. It is the essence of the old ABC Sports Slogan "The Thrill of Victory and the Agony of Defeat" although I think even the winner suffers more than a little agony!
They host a number of these around the country. It's now on my list to see the finals at Coney Island.
Pure Americana....
Atlanta Suburbs & Lake Lannear
by Scarlie
Greater Atlanta is surrounded by leafy suburbs, which provide a totally different perspective of the area. Our local friends took us to Lake Lannear - a man-made lake and a picturesque destination for a day out and picnic.

Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport
by Stephen-KarenConn
The Mission Statement of the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport is: "to be the world's best airport by exceeding customer expectations!" I don't know if it's the world's best airport, but Atlanta is the busiest passenger airport in the world. I've flown in to, out of and through the Atlanta Airport scores of times over the years and although it is BIG it is also operated very efficiently. So many flights connect through Atlanta that there is a saying in the South that you can't get to either Heaven or Hell without first passing through Atlanta.
For many years the airport was known as Hartsfield. It was named for William Berry Hartsfield, who served as Atlanta's mayor for a total of 24 years and is credited with developing Atlanta's airport into a national aviation center.
Later the airport was renamed Hartsfield-Jackson, to also honor Mayor Maynard Jackson, who in 1974 became Atlanta's first African-American mayor. I had the opportunity to meet Mayor Jackson once - on a Delta airliner flying between Atlanta and Frankfort, Germany. The Mayor seemed pleased that I recognized and spoke to him, and as a true politician he didn't miss the opportunity to shake my hand. Maynard Jackson was good for Atlanta. Among his accomplishments was leading in the modernization of the airport in the 1970s.
