Residence inn Atlanta Midtown is worth it
I had a very late check in with no problem despite buying my hotel off priceline for a very reduced price. I was really surprised with how nice the room was as I had read other reviews about priceliners getting crappy rooms. Sure, the view sucked, but so what? The rooms are big with a sitting area, kitchenette, nice bathroom, nice bed, and non-disgusting bedding. The staff was nice and the rooms clean. The breakfast was sort of crappy but lots of options, I would have liked more fruit, but the non health concerned would have been pretty happy. Small but nice fitness area.
The only annoyance was my bathtub not draining quickly, and I mean standing water for over 2 hours after a shower, but this wasn't that big of a deal honestly. Also, the parking costs are ridiculous, but I was able to park on the street and walk less then a block. If you are just staying the weekend, you can park on the south side of 17th street without any problem, Sundays are free anywhere, but I could see during the week it would be more difficult and you would most likely have to pay for parking, but I did notice a pay lot pretty close to the hotel which I am sure is cheaper then the 21/day parking the hotel offers.
I would recommend this place, but try going to priceline, I only payed 50$ a night which felt like a great deal.

Nice Room at a Central Location
I stayed in Residence Inn Midtown 17th Street for five nights. I found the room clean and well upkept, a little bit better than for example Residence Inn Downtown. The location is central if you look at the map of Atlanta, and it actually is at a good place, but you would definiately need a rental car to move around from here. As we found there are not so many good restaurants in walking distance for example. If you'll be attending a convention in the convention center, this is too far for you, but if you have no other choice downtown, choose this hotel as it is a pleasant experience.
Valet parking is USD 19 per night, which is a lot in my opinion, especially as the parking is located at the bottom of the hotel, so you could park your own car easily - for free. If they would allow it, but they don't.
Unique Quality: They don't have a pool, and the gym is also very small, but offer breakfast every morning and have a social hour between Monday and Thursday - if you make it on time - we never did, so I can not tell you how good it is. But the breakfast is nice.
The Hotel is right next door to the Atlanta High Museum of Art, to where you can walk in less than two minutes!
