with street signs. There are over 100 restaurants, nightclubs and retail stores here. Atlanta History Center a good start out if you want
to get historical information about the city before going further. This center and museum traces atlanta history from Native Americans to the 1996 Olympics.

Dwarf House - Chick Fil A
by PVHS02
Dwarf House is the original home of Chick Fil A, so if you're dying to order a burger and straight fries at Chick-Fil-A, now's your chance!
Features the same menu items as a regular Chick Fil A but also contains generic diner food such as its famous Dwarf House burger and various pies you don't find on the Chick Fil A menu. Wait staff has generally been there for years and are all very friendly (especially if they know you're a tourist).
Small museum featuring pictures and the original Dwarf House door are on display by the entrance.

If you're into nightlife you'll probably end up in Buckhead. For a diversion, try Virginia Highlands or Little Five Points, but don't hang around L5P at night.
Buckhead offers the largest selection of bars within walking distance, Virginia Highlands is more relaxed, and Little Five Points is just plain different. Wear conservative clothes to Buckhead, casual clothes to Virginia Highlands, and your tattoos to Little Five Points.
Early Morning Flights out of Atlanta
by Sunshine64
One thing to be aware of if you are leaving Atlanta on an early morning (prior to 7am) flight:
The airline check-in counters open at 4:30, and gate security opens at 5:00. Self-check-in kiosk opens at 4:15.
So, even though the airlines tell you you need to be at the airport 2 hours before your flight - if your flight is at 6, you're just going to be standing around for a while. But, at least you'll be further along in the queue : )
