The outskirts of Downtown
We were pretty worried when we realized that the Wyndham we had booked was actually a Wyndham "Garden". The hotel is attached to a Baymont Inn which has more of a budget motel feel.
Happily though, the room was well appointed and clean and despite having a room close to the elevators there was very little noise. Free internet is a big plus. The restaurant serves a decent buffet breakfast.
The only bad thing is that you are 2-3 blocks from the heart of downtown where everything is. We walked most of the time and it wasn't too bad, but most of that walking was past comparably priced hotels. We were lucky to have good walking weather which helped. incidentally, cabs are ridiculously overpriced: $10 for ANY downtown ride - even one block.
