The practice rounds at the Augusta National are probably the nicest part of the golf tournament! If you don't have a ticket for the practice rounds or a badge for the series you will not get into the Augusta National.
Usually the hotels and other lodging will be full and the price is much higher for the week.
Behind St. Paul's Episcopal Church is the Celtic Cross that marks the site of the original Fort Augusta.
This is a lovely area and the steps lead up to the Riverwalk on the Savannah River.
The day I was there it was a hot August day but this area was cool and inviting.
