In the first two weeks of March, the annual Forsythia Festival is held in Forsyth, GA.
For the non-gardeners, forsythia is a bush with bundles of bright yellow buds that sprout every spring before turning green (and having to be pruned.... lousy job).
The home city for this festival is obviously Forsyth, GA. They have street vendors, and local song-and-dance acts, and tours around the town buildings where hundreds of the bushes are presented for picture taking.
It is the highlight event of the season in this part of Georgia.
So if you are this way in early spring, plan to spend a day here, taking pictures, munching hamburgers or ribs and pawing through all the trinkets they have for sale.
