CAstle Inn is One
We did not stay here now, but some years back. It was okay and on the Chattahoochee River for the overlook. Only about 10 rooms available. It is older but still a good location and some solitude.
Unique Quality: Cozy rooms feel like making you at home.

Another place to stay
We have not stayed here we are just sharing with you what lodging is available.
Unique Quality: Right in town if you like being in the heart of things. 2 night min, no pets, free cable and coffee but no breakfast, all rooms are non smoking. Noise level will be very load because you will be right on main street near the square.

As central as you can get
The Alpine Inn is unusual in that there is no reception or registration desk. It is housed above a little cluster of shops and I wandered through them all looking for reception before finally asking a shopkeeper and being given a phone number to call for A-1 Vacation rentals. They had me come to their office about a half mile away where I was checked in and given a key to the room.
The room itself was a bit small but very adequate and had all the requisite amenities (except no phone) - clean bathroom, TV, iron and ironing board, coffee maker. If you consider it you should be aware that there is no elevator so from the parking area in the rear it is up 2 flights of stairs. We chose it because the exterior is a bit like a castle and we were taking our 7 year old grandson who thought it cool. The decor in the rooms is okay and in the halls it is not elaborate but attractive. The room which had 2 queen beds was $122 per night.

The Castle Inn is very nice...
The Castle Inn is very nice but all are about the same as the city has strict guidelines. The Best Western and Super 8 are great 'name brand' hotels to stay at as they are built in old world style but you definately want to stay in a cabin. A great website to pick out one is at http://www.helenga.org but all are pretty much in the same category.
