Great Mountain Hotel...
The Fieldstone is an upscale Hotel located in the north Georgia Mountain town of Hiawassee. The Fieldstone boasts an excellent restaurant, a Marina, and is right on Lake Chatuge.
If you want to get up in the mountains but don't want to stay in a cabin, this is a great place to check out. I've been here twice now and both times it's been fantastic. The Fieldstone lobby resembles a Lodge. The rooms are outstanding and the staff went out of their way to make the stay memorable. They accomodate special requests for anniversaries/birthdays, etc. and are good at keeping it on the sly so it's a surprise!
I opted for one of two suites that they had on the second floor. These two have full size Jacuzzi's in them. The Restaurant served an excellent Prime Rib and had a full service bar.
The Fieldstone also sells Lake side Condominiums and is building a Spa to open later in 2005.
