Days Inn: Nice Budget Motel in Bainbridge

by Basaic

There are two parts to the Days Inn an older and a newer building. Even the older building has been updated and upgraded. Nice flat screen TV, small refrigerator and microwave. Usual continental breakfast. Reasonable price too. I would stay here again.

Old Savannah Inn: A Gem In Savannah

by Marchella007

Staying at a Beautiful Inn transported me back in time when in Savannah.

Attention to Detail. Great breakfasts. Wonderful greeting upon arrival. Beautiful Design and Decorating at the Inn. Small personalized Inn, great to meet other guest during breakfast. Innkeeper was very accommodating and went out of her way to make sure we were happy.

Another thing to remember is that Savannah is a difficult city to find parking if you are driving a car there. There are additional fees with many hotels. We always had a parking space and at no cost which was not an additional cost to the daily rate, something to be remembered.

Days Inn - Tifton: Nice and Inexpensive in Tifton

by Basaic

This hotel had a few of the little extras I like to find. There was a microwave and a refrigerator and even a little sitting area. The price was cheap for what I got and the staff was nice too.

Marriott Columbus: Hotel in Historical Building

by nwlambear

My husband and I stayed here for several days when we were in Columbus, Georgia for our grandson's graduation from Fort Benning. The front desk staff was gracious and very helpful...they went out of their way to help us with anything we needed during out stay. We were right at home here! There were the usual hotel amentities, with the nice touch of both wired and wireless internet available. Bathroom was quite adequate and lovely. Bedding was great; pillows were plentiful and so very comfortable. My husband especially enjoyed being so close to the riverwalk as did I. Location was convenient to Fort Benning. The lobby, as I mentioned, was very impressive and beautiful and offered our family a comfortable location to visit...as did other families. Uniforms everywhere! It very busy with graduates and Army families.

The hotel is located in the restored historic district, opposite the old iron foundry which has been converted to a convention facility, and within an easy walk of the riverfront walking paths.

The lobby is spacious, clean and quite beautiful..it gives a good first impression. It had very tall ceiling with skylights

Our room was quite a nice surprise--very beautiful--looked more like a "bed and breakfast" actually. Our room was in the part of the hotel that had originally been part of the bakery. It was large, with high ceilings, original brick walls, the original tall, skinny windows...two big wing chairs, very comfortable bed, lovely desk with hookup for our laptop !! It was quite comfortable, light and airy even with the old brick walls.

Baymont Inn and Suites: Atlanta City-Centre Budget Hotel

by Canguy

On my last visit to Georgia in March 2009, I stayed for 3 nights at the Baymont Inn and Suites in downtown Atlanta. The booking was done through Expedia. Before taking the chance with this hotel, I had read some of the reviews, and many were not too favorable. I decided to take a chance, as the hotel had the best rate [for a downtown hotel], and there was a special on [stay 3 nights and the last night free].
I am very glad that I took the chance, as everything from check-in to check-out went perfectly smooth. The staff were friendly and helpful, the buffet continental breakfast was better than a whole lot of others that I have had. Entrances to the rooms were from outside corridors [motel style], but that was ok, except on one occasion when it was raining rather heavily. The room itself was more than adequate --- the t.v. and aircon worked, there was free internet access as well as free local calls. The outdoor pool looked clean and well maintained, although there wasn't anybody swimming as the weather was still rather cold.
I would recommend this hotel, unless you are willing to shell out an extra $50 a night for the luxury of having an inside corridor entrance to your room.

Beside the price, the most outstanding quality of the hotel is probably the staff --- very friendly and helpful, as were the residents of Atlanta whom I met during my visit.

Chateau Elan Resort and Spa: Great Resort and Spa

by Beemergranny

We stayed at Chateau Elan for 3 nights and 4 days. The facilities were wonderful. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the amenities were top notch. They include a spa, an Irish Pub, a wonderful restaurant and golfing. We were treated to turndown service and the Wall Street Journal every morning. The rooms are spacious and we had a wonderful time. We highly recommend this facility and we will be going back many times.

There is a fantastic spa connected with the facility, a golf course, restaurants and the winery is right on the property. There are rolling hills and we were on a motorcycle, so we took advantange of mountain riding while there.

Rodeway Inn: You get what you pay for

by kerawil

This hotel is NOT on my recommend list. The room we were given had not been cleaned and we had to exchange it for another one. Mistakes like that should not happen. The second one seemed to be clean, but the furniture was worn and damaged. We had booked this hoted because it was reasonably priced, but I will not return there.

Howard Johnson Airport in Atlanta: Howard Johnson Airport in Atlanta

by ArenJo

The room was nice, however every little thing we needed, we had to ask for. Like shampoo, towels (there were only 2 in the room), etc. The continental breakfast didn't offer a lot. There was cereal and some terribly watered down juice. That was it. The wireless internet didn't work for me or anyone else that was there while I was there. There was a room with one computer that had internet access.
Location is great for going to good restaurants.

Cabin Rentals

by am&pm

If you go online you'll find loads of real estate places that deal with cabin or vacation house rentals in North Georgia or the surrounding area. We chose Mountain Laurel cabins and found a 3 bedroom, 3 bath home for about $800/wk. This might sound like a lot but you have to remember it's a complete home with ALL the emenities including a hot tub, full kitchen, barbecue grill, private bedrooms, a full basement with a pool table and card and board games, Direct TV. Everything but the food. We brought food from home and bought a little at the local grocery stores as well and had some nights where we ate out. You can't do that and spend only $800 staying in a hotel for 7 nights.

The cabin was private and secluded on a little winding road with a view of Carter's Lake, part of the Georgia State Park system. It was perfect for us, but maybe not for a family with small children because of the many staircases in the house and the lack of flat land around it. Still, it wouldn't be hard to find a house without those worries in this area.
