Buccaneer Beach Resort

For the price, this is a great hotel! We were on the second floor near one of the boardwalks...the view was unbelievable! The room was big, clean and comfortable, with tons of drawer space in both the room and the bathroom (how great it was to tuck all those toiletries away to leave the counter free!) It had two wingchairs, private balcony with chairs and table and really soft towels for a budget hotel. Very comfortable and everything worked just fine. Yes, it was a little shabby here and there...some rotten kid had drawn on the entertainment unit with pen and broken a drawer pull...there was a hard water stain in the tub. Really minor stuff. To get that view and the sound of the surf for a resonable price? Oh, yeah...it was so worth it! We got the freedom package which was a great deal. The restaurant staff was very friendly and the food was good with lots of non-fish choices...the breakfast buffet was particularly good. The front desk staff was very accommodating, even though we showed up about 2 hours early and extended our stay by a night. The beaches were empty and gorgeous. Don't pick up any sand dollars that are pink on the underside! They are alive, and being endangered by souvenir hunters.

I have heard terrible things about this hotel, but our stay was really enjoyable.

I'll definitely go again and stay at the Buccaneer. It's the best price and location on the island.
