Mulberry Street is one of the original streets in Macon. It has a park down the middle of the street planted with beautiful flowers such as Azaleas which are in full bloom in late March. There are beautiful old buildings along here such as the Mulberry Street United Methodist Church at 713 Mulberry. Mulberry Street park reflects the original town plan where the east-west streets are named for trees thus we have Mulberry, Cherry and Poplar Streets.
Macon is a little over an hour's drive south of Atlanta on I-75. There are many things to do in and around Macon and most of them are a short drive from one of the freeways. It's a great place to stop and take a break if you are on a road trip.
