See the 'Big Chicken.' Kindy...
by ScooBoo
See the 'Big Chicken.' Kindy corny, but this is the landmark that will be mentioned if you ask anyone for directions. It is just a huge mechanical chicken in front of a KFC resturant. I have only lived here a couple of years but it is very convenient to Atlanta and Buckhead. It's north of Atlanta, so if I an ever camping in the North Georgia mountains, I'm already out of town and on my way. Also convenient to I-285, the perimeter around Atlanta.
Taco heaven
by dustmon about Taco Mac
Taco Mac is a really good chain with good food and alot of beers on tap---their salsa is good and spicy, and the tacos are meaty and overflowing. This can be a sports bar, a family place, or a cultural visit....I really enjoy the times I have been to Taco Mac with my son and my friends...... tacos!
Marietta Confederate Cemetery
by dustmon
Established in 1863, this is the final resting place of many soldiers who died in the Battle of Kennessaw Mountain, just a little through the woods from here. Some lovely statues and crypts are placed around the landscaped grounds. The very first church built in Marietta used to be where the Cemetery is now, but moved closer to the Square when the Cemetery was concieved. A nice place to walk around in the spring and summer.
