Cotton Fields Golf Course
This course is a private establishment that opens up to public use at certain times in the year and on certain days. You must call ahead for tee registration. There is a dress code.
18 holes with a cart will cost $45. The pain and exasperation, when playing this course, is free.
It is a difficult course with taxing tee-to-green presentations (dog-legs, elevations, tree-obstructions, raps). I don't think any of the greens are truly flat and though they are relatively large, they are quite hard to make in three putts (at least for duffers like me). Greens are well maintained bent grass; fairways and roughs are bermuda grass which can play a bit fast in the dry summers. The course will continue to frustrate you on every hole.
The short tees play 5500 and the long play 6500 yards.
the ads say "with features like 6 practice greens, a pro shop, a snack bar and a spacious outdoor pavilion the CottonFields golf course is a favorite course for our regular seasoned golfers and an inspiring challenge for newcomers. It offers sparkling ponds, wide, open fairways and large greens. The CottonFields course is designed to provide the ultimate golfing challenge in a glorious setting."
