In 1928, Howard Coffin, the automaker who invented the Hudson, established "The Cloister" on Sea Island and began the traditions for which the hotel and the Island are world famous. St. Simons Island is a beautiful place on the southeast coast of Georgia. This wonderful little island has plenty to keep you busy during your stay. This island is just ten minutes from Jekyll Island. Lots of historical sites to visit here. Plenty of beach too.
