Zeigler House, Azalea Inn or Forsyth Park Inn?

by luvtotravel087

My husband and I are going to Savannah for our first visit on Memorial Day Weekend to celebrate our 5th anniversary. We are avid B&B travelers, but have been having a really hard time trying to decide between the three listed above. We want to have a great room, a great breakfast and a great location. Does anyone have an opinion about any of the three of these? Thanks for the help!!!

I don't know anything about the places you mention but with all things being equal(price, etc)I think Zeigler House would be preferable for its location because it's definitely within walking distance to sights and/or the local bus routes, the other two are not. I have a few tips on my Savannah page you might find helpful (I was just there last weekend).

If it were my trip, I'd stay at the Zeigler House B&B. Was there a couple of years ago and it was just wonderful. the owners are really nice, the rooms are gorgeous, the breakfast filling and tasty and it's within walking distance to wherever you might wish to go. I know nothing about the other two places you mentioned.

Travel Tips for Savannah

Don't Rush, Just Soak It All In...

by kidkilowatt

Savannah is such a beautiful city to walk around. Do walk as much as possible in soak in your surrounds. Living in New York, I see many benches but never before have I had the desire to sit down on one just to ponder or soak in the atmosphere. Savannah is such a wonderful place to just take a seat and be at peace with the world. Take advantage of the benches in Savannah's parks and squares. Sunshine and blue skies can't be beat.

I personally loved hanging around the river. When I was here, there were some great jazz musicians playing their tunes. I loved watching the big barges and ships sail up the river shaking the gorund and making big waves. I was here in early May, so it was quite pleasant to be outside. Just hanging out suited me just fine.

Many Activities and Varity

by BruceDunning

Around the city are many types of sports and activities for tourists/visitors. One main one is golf, and most of that is at Hilton Head Island; 50 miles away, but worth the trip. Then you could go to the beach, or relax on the veranda,

Bonaventure Cemetery - located...

by cfwestbe

Bonaventure Cemetery - located several miles from the historic district - this cemetery has many famous people buried in it. The old marble statues and markers/headstones were beautiful. During the afternoon, the sun rays shine through the trees and the Spanish Moss hanging down from the branches. The cemetery is even broken up to sections for different religions (who want to be segregated from others). There are even past tales of voodoo rituals at night in this cemetery.

We arrived via the trusty Honda Civic and after shelling out $850 to have it fixed, left by the same mode. ;)
It's best to just walk around as the city is fairly compact and it is the streets that are the real attraction of this romantic city. Of course, there are boat trips to view the city from the Savannah River, even ones that will take you to Tybee Island with dolphin viewing as well.
